I do not foresee posting on Twitter anymore. Elon Musk is repugnant. Find me here

I'm quoted in this German story about the troubles that beset the Democratic Party in the US.
Call for abstracts: The deadline for the Legal Philosophy Workshop is fast-approaching. By March 1st, submit your abstract or volunteer to comment. What could be better than discussing legal philosophy in Amsterdam this summer?

To add to the list of crazy things this week, @Paypal claimed that I closed my account via a conversation with their AI chatbot. I said I didn't and asked them for proof. They refused to provide any.
I'm reporting them to @CFPB (the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau). Paypal needs to have better policies in place to ensure that nonsense like this doesn't happen.
Provocative and incisive piece by @ChicagoKentLaw colleague Pedro Gerson.

I'm heading to Brazil tomorrow to teach a short course on experimental jurisprudence @Insper with @almeida2808

This is the line I was talking about. I went by on my way to the dentist yesterday. Apparently, it got much longer by evening.
The line to vote today at Merlo Library in Chicago's 44th Ward — one of the early voting spots with the highest turnout, according to @ChicagoElection.
I talked to Toria McKenzie who said she got in line around 11 a.m. this morning and was still waiting more than 5 hours later.
I had a trying day. But I was heartened to see a long line of people outside, some with earbuds, some with a book, many chatting with one another, all in line for the last day of early voting. Our experiment in self-government, with all its troubles, still gives me all the feels.
Heading to @USC for a legal philosophy conference. Should be a fun time!
I guess fascists gon' fascist.

Another Mexican Independence celebration and another day that CPD shows that they really have no idea how to direct traffic or control crowds.
Aeon often has great pieces, but this was really excellent. I really changed my thinking about Awkwardness.
‘Awkwardness highlights the fact that our interactions are scripted. Its aversiveness shows the extent to which people prefer not to be reminded of this fact.’ We should take awkwardness less personally, and more seriously @alexplakias aeon.co/essays/we-should-tak…
I'm a millennial. I grew up poor near Appalachia. I later went to an elite law school. But somehow, I didn't end up being a bootlicking fraud like JD Vance.
No surprise. They don't want accountability.
For the second time this year, the majority of serious Chicago police misconduct cases are on hold as attorneys for the rank-and-file CPD officers’ union prepare to submit a challenge to a judge’s order that mandated those hearings be publicly accessible.

Yesterday's decision was horrible for many reasons, but the thing in the background that's especially repugnant is the Court's casual claim that ordinary protections for criminal defendants are BS, so we have to create new, strong ones for the important people. 1/2
I second. This was a great time!
🚨Cool conference alert🚨 I had a blast at the first "Law &" conference in Hong Kong, exploring interdisciplinary legal studies across domains. Thanks @ryanwhalen for putting together an amazing group of scholars!
