We believe that children should be educated in a mixed-sex environment. The BoMs of Scoil Áine(girls)+Assaim(boys) will not introduce co-education. We have asked the Archdiocese to transfer patronage and to provide a co-ed mulitdenominational community national school for Raheny.
There are 6,800 primary school places within 2.3km of Raheny. 245 of those are in multidenominational schools. This is 3.6% of total.
We need more places in mulitdenominational schools in this area.

We are hearing reports of heated exchanges at meetings on a divestment programme involving North Dublin Schools in Raheny. Join us in Raheny where parents give their honest view on what they want for the future their kids schools. @NewstalkFM @PatKennyNT
As part of the reconfiguration for diversity programme we would welcome the establishment of a community national school in Raheny. This school could stand beside a junior and senior Catholic school with all 3 schools being co-educational.

The 2022-23 admission figures demonstrate that the Catholic school in Raheny is undersubscribed. The mulitdenominational schools in Killester and Kilbarrack are oversubscribed. We believe that there is a need for a multidenominational school in Raheny.
As per the 2021-2022 figures only 12.4% of primary school children attend single-sex schools. Most of these are in Dublin. We believe that education in a mixed-sex environment is better for our kids.

oireachtas.ie/en/debates/que… The situation in KRC where all secondary schools are religious, where boys and girls attend separately and where two out of three boys leave the area for secondary, compared to only one in five girls, at least deserves to be addressed by the Minister.

Many thanks to @OCallaghanCian for raising the issue of the need for a non religious, coeducational secondary school in the Killester Raheny Clontarf area. The Minister completely ignores the questions in her reply so we’ll keep demanding action oireachtas.ie/en/debates/que…

nearfm.ie/podcast/northside-… 📻Paddy Monahan from our Secondary School Campaign spoke to Donie Tarrant on Near FM to explain the findings of our parent survey and to highlight the demographic need for a multi denominational, co-educational secondary school in the KRC SPA.
The vast majority of parents in this area want their children to attend co-ed schools. More and more of us do not want faith formation in schools. Change needs to happen. @dublindiocese @Education_Ire @NormaFoleyTD1 @sean_haughey @RichardbrutonTD @AodhanORiordain @OCallaghanCian

Many thanks to Cian O’Callaghan TD for this excellent contribution in the Dáil yesterday in support of a coeducational non-denominational secondary school for the Killester Raheny Clontarf area. Let’s keep up the pressure! fb.watch/efPJCjQiMN/
The Taoiseach has recently stated the government wants more divestment of schools. Parents and children in Raheny area want this to happen also.

I emailed @Education_Ire in February with a very simple question about how much rent is being paid to the Catholic Church for schools that reconfigure to the ETB. Despite a couple of reminders, there has been no response. I'm not sure why this is such a secret? #edchatie
A sensible decision from the Diocese of Cashel & Emly changing 3 primary schools from single-sex to co-ed. Parents and children in Raheny would welcome this change in our local schools. @DublinDiocese @NormaFoleyTD1 @Education_Ire

Well done to the principal and board of @joeys_secondary for going co-ed. The parents and children in Raheny would like to see this happen in our schools @DublinDiocese @sean_haughey @AodhanORiordain @RichardbrutonTD @OCallaghanCian @DMitchellTD

Parents in Raheny have requested a transfer of patronage of one of the senior primary schools to city of Dublin ETB. This will introduce co-education and also provide a multidenominational option. We are frustrated that @DublinDiocese isn't making this happen.@NormaFoleyTD1

Teachers in Ireland have to campaign for fact-based sex education in our schools. Think about that. It’s 2022 and the Catholic Church dominates the Irish education system. We need a non-denominational, coeducational secondary school for Killester Raheny Clontarf.
Primary school teachers have instructed their union to campaign for the introduction of fact-based relationship and sexuality education in schools
