This is potent advice. I’ve collaborated with artists that have millions of monthly listeners, but my collaborations that have taken off were much more organic. Both of the artists really supporting the record is key – at Portland, OR
I understand the importance of paying for features but if it doesn’t come with social support and a visual appearance you’re wasting your money. I’ve worked several records where someone paid for a feature and it bombed because their fans didn’t see the support from the other artist.
Genuine collaborations tend to flourish more.
