Recently received the Levi Watkins, Jr. MD Award for Mentorship from @VUmedicine and couldn't be more grateful. Couldn't believe it. @VUMChealth medical students are the greatest and hope to never forget when all MD's were in their position, we all needed a mentor.
For the first time in my life, my brother @AshwynKSharmaMD and I graduate at the same time - both from our surgical residencies. I am grateful to my family, friends, and mentors.
Now off to @UCLA_ENT for my Facial Plastics Fellowship.

Had a great time presenting at the @AAFPRS meeting during @__COSM 2026 in Phoenix, AZ. It was an excellent opportunity to learn about cutting-edge research in the field and reconnect with colleagues, mentors, and mentees.

Our new study shows post-op opioid prescribing after forehead flap reconstruction was linked to higher risk of persistent opioid use. This data supports the need for procedure-specific, evidence-based prescribing guidelines. #OpioidStewardship @alex_barna97 @VUMChealth
Here are two recently published studies on the acute management of Bell’s Palsy. Despite multiple guidelines from the @AAOHNS and other organizations, there remains substantial variation in diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.

Honored to attend and present at the 2025 International Facial Nerve Symposium in the beautiful city of Madrid with my @VanderbiltENT colleagues. A privilege to represent our institution and connect with surgical leaders from around the world. @AAFPRS
@VUMCDiscoveries
Grateful for the opportunity to present at the 2025 American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery meeting in Los Angeles. It was inspiring to connect with so many talented surgeons and get a glimpse of my future home at @UCLA next year. @VanderbiltENT @AAFPRS
