UK and Indian industry join forces to combat digital fraud The two industries will join forces via a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on 14 September between the UK government and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI). Ben Mellor, Acting British High Commissioner to India joined Lt Gen Dr SP Kochhar, Director General of COAI to announce the partnership. The MoU will provide a framework for activities to share learning, facilitate knowledge sharing and build engagement around key digital fraud-related issues impacting India and the UK. It sets out how our telecoms industries can utilise the latest technologies and approaches alongside the recent advancements in AI, which is transforming how networks are designed, managed and secured across the digital economy. The agreement will bolster fraud resilience in the UK and India by placing industry at the heart of the solution to this global problem. Digital fraud is a growing transnational organised crime and combating it requires close co-ordination between governments and the industry. 🏆 FISI UK congratulates Team India on a golden double at the Asian Games 2026 FISI UK extends its congratulations to India's men's and women's kabaddi teams on winning gold at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. The men's team defeated Iran 40–34 in the final, securing India's 9th Asian Games gold in men's kabaddi out of 10 editions contested. The women's team also won gold, defeating Iran in their final to complete the golden double for India. Both teams entered the tournament as defending champions from the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, and India remains the most successful nation in Asian Games kabaddi history with 13 gold medals across the men's and women's competitions combined. Pride of India, Hero of the Skies Reports say an Indian pilot, Captain Smit Machchhar, helped save the lives of around 174 people aboard flydubai flight FZ1073, bound for Tel Aviv. Israeli officials describe the incident as an attempted hijacking of the aircraft. Although he was seriously wounded, he is reported to have opened the cockpit door so that others on board could help. The aircraft was stabilised and landed safely in Saudi Arabia, and a major disaster was averted.
