The @NWSBayArea is using strong language to describe the potential impacts of the Wednesday storm. I think this is appropriate; this certainly has the potential to be one of the higher impact storms in some years, at least in certain locations. [10/n] #CAwx #CAwater

ALT Text in image reads: "To put it simply, this will likely be one of the most impactful systems on a widespread scale that this meteorologist has seen in a long while. The impacts will include widespread flooding, roads washing out, hillside collapsing, trees down (potentially full groves), widespread power outages, immediate disruption to commerce, and the worst of all, likely loss of human life. This is truly a brutal system that we are looking at and needs to be taken seriously."

Update: Dec NMME runs out today show essentially the same pattern for Jan-May: a fairly strong dry signal across most of CA and the lower Colorado Basin (though there are a couple of individual models that don't agree, so as always nothing's set in stone). #CAwater #CAwx

Latest round of seasonal modeling continues to suggest a shift toward much drier conditions across CA & the lower Colorado basin beginning in Jan & continuing through spring. But it will be interesting to see what latest update shows when it comes out in few days. #CAwater (3/3)
