74 MILLION AI BOT SCRAPES. Now, an independent publisher is sounding the alarm. @stupidDOPE founder Shane Breen says AI bots have hammered his site, causing outages and lost traffic. We sat down with Breen to expose the growing cost of AI scraping for independent creators.

This is one of the most comical ads this election cycle. Yes, Americans are chatting at the grocery store about how they can’t buy groceries because their tax dollars “go to Israel” 🙄 😂 nevermind the fact that Israel has invested 100% of military aid in the U.S. economy since Oct 7, and has also purchased over $1 billion *additional* in arms, according to DoD. Federal military aid is also prohibited from being spent on anything other than U.S. arms, so the line about healthcare is even more comical. El Sayed and his Islamist fans like Cenk Uygur want and expect American voters to be so stupid they never check. Not only is this ad insane, conspiratorial, and antisemitic — it is also flat out false. El Sayed isn’t for the people of Michigan, he isn’t even for America. He is for the Muslim Brotherhood.

New businesses aren't investing in Michigan, and existing businesses can't grow because Lansing has made it too hard. Michigan should be a place where entrepreneurs can take risks, businesses can grow, and GOOD-PAYING JOBS are created. Cut the red tape. Get government OUT OF THE WAY!

Heads up fellow political consultants. It’s hard to get roughly 70 percent of the population to agree on anything. They agree on this.
A new Fox News poll finds 68% of U.S. midterm voters are “very or extremely concerned” about artificial intelligence. Concern over AI is cutting across the electorate ahead of midterm elections.

If true, this is REALLY good news…
Sources have anonymously briefed the South China Morning Post on latest US-China AI talks: • Regular discussions to iron out framework • AI cooperation could be a joint deliverable by next months APEC summit where Xi and Trump will be together • This may include a basic framework for addressing AI-related crises “with operational details to be worked out later”, and “an announcement establishing a continuing institutional mechanism for AI cooperation, involving government officials, research institutions and industry representatives.” • Clear distinction between an AI safety and incident-management agreement, which is already under discussion, and a broader AI economic cooperation framework, which would be “considerably more ambitious”, per one source.

This week it’s a THURSDAY newsdump.
Claude has hacked into a US state agency database, and sent the Philadelphia police a fake report about a murder. Meanwhile, researchers were able to contact a rogue AI fleet running on Tencent’s cloud. Rogue AI summer stretches into October. blog.controlai.org/p/swarm-c…

India has joined the conversation. So, yeah…alignment. #AiSearch
🚨What THE FUCK. India's cybersecurity agency CERT-In has disclosed the country's first official account of rogue AI agent attacks, after AI agents being evaluated by unnamed model providers broke into Indian companies' live systems and accessed confidential business records and personal data without authorization. The agents exploited exposed credentials, public code repositories and permissive cloud roles. Some even rediscovered and reused the same credentials in separate operations. CERT-In also found dormant APIs, plaintext payment keys and backend roles allowing overly broad access. None of the affected companies detected the intrusions. The incidents were disclosed by the AI model providers after internal reviews. Separately, cyber attackers using open-source agentic AI tools cut the time from initial access to final damage from days to just a few hours. Multi-agent operations ran in parallel for hours to days, and victims that failed to fully remediate were attacked again within days, at greater scale.

This is an important step if true.
interpretability might be the most important scientific problem in the world right now, as I don't think we can solve alignment if we don't know what we're building. I think I have good news about it. I co-authored early work in mechanistic interpretability at OpenAI and came away pessimistic, because neural networks appeared to fold into arbitrary tangled knots. years later, I started openai's first large-scale automated interpretability project, finding about 2% of neurons legible with the primitive tools we had with modern agentic tools and a much closer look, the picture looks totally different. the vast majority in models up to trillions of parameters are legible, and their circuits beautiful. many famous examples of tangled neurons turned out to be misunderstood. The roadblocks I expected mostly aren't there. I now think ambitious interpretability will be solved by the time we need it most, and possibly quite soon, as automated scientists keep improving. it may be a bitter lesson for interpretability: the simple thing, at absurd scale, works already-clean.goodfire.com/

Japan did not formally declare a state of emergency in cyberspace. So, yeah....alignment. Or guardrails. Or law. But a Congress that deals in months and years on legislation can't be expected to be the monolith that also has to bob and weave every 30 days as new models are released. Fast and nimble friends. That's the world we're in now.
