What a great play on the TD pass to escape the pocket and somehow got the ball to Sategna. I have not seen one media member comment how great that effort was by Mateer. Only the same old “OU sucks bc of Mateer”… 🤮

I truly believe the OL has been our biggest issues the past 3 years?! But to be honest it’s recruiting/development at every offensive position! In the classes of 24,25,26, players who should be in their 3rd-4th-5th yr of college, we have only 6 offensive guys left of 35 signees!

I hear people say our problem is BV prioritizes recruiting defense over offense. Looking at classes of 24-25-26 which are guys in their 3rd, 4th, and 5th years in the program — OU signed 35 HS offensive players; only 6 are still on roster! OU signed 40 HS def- 20 are still here

OL take longer to develop which means the classes of 24,25,26 HS guys should be playing. Our 2024 class was 0 of 4 (Brooks, Dent, Aisosa, Akin). Our 2023 class 1 of 4 (Green, Bates, Howland, Ozaeta. 2022 0 of 2 (Taylor, Sexton). Bill went 1 of 10 - Ozaeta is a sub! AWFUL!!!

It’s recruiting evaluation, development once they get on campus, and coach-player relationships that are different ! Offense has had many coaching changes, poor evaluations, poor development, poor retention!!!

Question #2– why for two straight weeks on TD’s allowed in the red zone were Kip & Heineke on the bench. Both TD passes took advantage of pass coverage drops by our 2nd team LB! I want them to get reps but not in red zone. Guessing Kip/Corey want to be on field at crunch time

Bedenbaugh and Arbuckle leaving Fodje in those last two series is completely indefensible. Putting him and the offense in that position is the kind of decision that should get people fired.

Bedenbaugh- take out Fodje - he can’t walk or block! He gave up 2 sacks out of those 3 plays!

Def played very well! Peyton’s pick-6 was incredible. But Texas burned us on deep crosses & posts. Gotta clean this up because those plays are on film. This was a simple dig/post (Cheetah is there for dig but safety has to close better on post. 3x1 set with deep crosser open too

OU ahead 24-17. Texass in Red Zone. Why are Kip/Heineke on the bench with the 2nd team LB on the field. Nesta will be good someday but gets lost on the shake route. Gotta think the more experienced guys woulda guarded better???

I’ve been very critical of the horrible run game, especially critical of the OL. The media has bashed Mateer for bad reads. On this play: Mateer makes a great decision on zone read based on Texas #10. Texas helps by slanting their DL wrong way. Best & Fodje do a great job here!!!

Most fans cussed Mateer on this play for intentional grounding. He could have gotten rid of the ball better to avoid the penalty. But the problem is TWO TE’s at the same spot! One busted! You never have two receivers in same area…. Mateer had nowhere to go with the ball

Gabe suggested this TE Wham scheme may have come from Witten- who knows? But whomever installed it this week - Bill, Witten, Wilson, buckle - great adjustment! Helps Texas had their LB on a stunt. Ozaeta great job rubbing the DT that Hansen is trapping! Love this in short yardage

After a great 11 yd GY ctr, Arbuckle makes a great call here! Most OU fans groaned saying this was a shit call. In reality, if Ozaeta kicks the last man, Mateer scores!!! Great play call that should have scored but result looks like a shitty loss of yards run by Mateer.

My friends know I’ve been very critical of the offensive line - they have been the biggest issue. But there is hope - we ran the ball in 2nd half! Here is GY counter- great down blocks by playside. Ozaeta has hat on wrong side but gets the kick out. Rocky cleans up LB. Avant 💪🏈
