Listening to Kansas - Carry on My Wayward Son I would like to thank all the friends who introduced me to the music of my soul. Darrell and Jason - KG, 1st and 2nd grade. We shared the music our older siblings exposed us to. Jamming to Three Dog Night coming over a transistor radio. Kevin and Evan McCubbin - older kids of family friends. Bad Finger, Seasons in the Sun, Bad Company, and more. Rene - My sister - 3 plus years older and a lot of it by proximity to your friends. Mom and Dad - Old school country, Outlaw country, Merle, Roy, Loretta, Hank, Waylon. Ketterman - dude upstairs after school Kiss Destroyer and Terrible Ted. Thank you, sir. Kevin - reinforced Kansas, REO, Def Leapord. Frank - Toto was your muse.

When it floods… Our farm/ranch took a beating last week with over 14 inches of rain in a three day span. We lost a few cattle, lost some freshly planted wheat, and lost a lot of time. Moral of the story? Life is messy; the flood came on the heels of a historic dry spell and drought. Things can get worse. Things can get better. Which comes next is as random as it gets. I write characters and stories that live in such worlds. I don’t know any other way.

A plea to the rest of my appliances Please do not break in any form. The fridge is a bad influence and is now on its way to the landfill. The washing machine will soon be reconnected and allowed to live if the new hoses are the remedy, I hope them to be. I need to be writing, not performing domestic repairs. So, stop it.
