Felon Released After 17 Years in Prison Killed in Shootout With Fall River Police
FALL RIVER, Mass. (February 8, 2026) — At approximately 12:13 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call reporting a man with a firearm inside a vehicle outside a residence. Police located Vaughn near a dark-colored SUV and began a pat-down search. Authorities said Vaughn resisted, resulting in a physical struggle. While on the ground, he produced a firearm and opened fire, striking one officer in the elbow and another in the abdomen. The second officer's bullet-resistant vest was struck. Officers returned fire, hitting Vaughn. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Both wounded officers were treated and released.
The shooting followed an earlier February 7 response to reports of erratic driving and an altercation near Knight's Gas Station/Towing on Linden Street. Officers located Vaughn and two other individuals in an SUV and directed them to leave.
Investigators recovered a Glock handgun fitted with an aftermarket machine-gun conversion device, commonly called a switch. Authorities determined Vaughn was a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms.
Criminal History: In 2007, Vaughn was convicted of three counts of armed assault with intent to murder and three counts of mayhem stemming from a 2005 shooting at Larry's Sports Pub in Fall River. Three people were shot and survived. He received consecutive prison terms totaling 18 to 20 years, plus 10 years of probation. Vaughn entered custody on April 14, 2005, and was released July 21, 2022. This indicates he served approximately 17 years and three months in custody. In 2010, he was also indicted in connection with a separate 2005 nightclub shooting involving two victims. The final disposition of that case was not established in the records reviewed.

🚨 JUST IN: President Trump is trying to get the Alaska US Senate race CALLED FOR REPUBLICANS — and if he succeeds, that would make the GOP’s 2028 path to Senate control require one less FLIP
If AK stays Republican, GOP needs to sweep the 2024 battlegrounds ONLY — original projection was we needed New Hampshire
STILL incredibly challenging, but flipping New Hampshire is even more difficult ‼️
And even then, it’s just 50-50 control with the VP.

The fact that we let them transport ballots is banana republic insanity.

🇺🇸🇮🇷 Russia may be helping IRAN PREPARE for a NUCLEAR ESCALATION with the United States.
I had former CIA analyst Larry Johnson back on, as fresh strikes were being reported near Iran's coast and Washington was preparing to tighten restrictions on Iranian supply routes.
But Larry was focused on something happening in Moscow.
Following a lengthy phone call between Putin and Iran's leadership, a senior Iranian official traveled to Russia for hours of face-to-face talks.
Larry believes those discussions went FAR beyond diplomacy.
He suspects Moscow and Tehran were coordinating intelligence, military technology and the support Russia might provide if the conflict escalates dramatically, potentially even to nuclear weapons.
That's his assessment, not a confirmed account of the meeting.
We also discussed Washington's reported $20 MILLION reward for information about Iran's enriched uranium.
Larry previously helped oversee the policy side of the State Department's Rewards for Justice program.
And he couldn't resist pointing out the contradiction.
If Iran's nuclear program was supposedly obliterated, why is Washington offering millions to find its nuclear material?
But Larry is actually becoming more optimistic about avoiding another major war.
He believes JD Vance's diplomatic efforts, Russia's involvement and the prospect of Netanyahu losing power could give Trump a way out.
His biggest concern now is whether Iran will tolerate continued economic pressure long enough for diplomacy to work.
Trump may have stepped away from another major attack, but the strikes, threats and blockade pressure haven't stopped. And neither side wants to be seen backing down.

Update: It would appear that Mr. Sanjou now wants to talk.
After the nation of El Salvador expressed interest in attempting to reach Mr. Sanjou regarding his vehicle's extended warranty, the expeditious location of his headquarters and weapons cache resulted in his gang allegedly sending a letter to the United Nations, requesting a mediated dialog.
In the letter, Mr. Sanjou specifically invokes Article 3 of the Geneva Conventions of 1949, claiming that he is a civilian.
Analyst Comment: If the letter is genuine, Mr. Sanjou seems to have overlooked the opening line to Article 3, which specifically states that the conditions therein only apply to those whom have ceased hostilities. Mr. Sanjou does not qualify for this classification.
The Positive Identification (PID) of weapons being stored at his personal residence, coupled with the Hostile Intent and Hostile Actions demonstrated by his continued gang activities (which includes the kidnapping of Christian Missionaries, some of which were children and infants), likely voids the protections afforded to civilians under the Geneva Conventions.
His continued actions likely classify him as a lawful combatant subject to the rules of engagement as outlined by the United Nations Gang Suppression Force (GSF) mission in Haiti as authorized by the UN Security Council.
For all of the Haitian gang leaders who do nothing but torture, maim, and kill innocents just to control your garbage-strewn street, a word of advice: It's not a good idea to film yourself playing with your meager arsenal at your home.
With a few taps on a smartphone, a rather bad night (for you) can be generated in seconds.
