I’ll Teach You A Lesson—Nigerian Police Officer Threatens Motorist, Orders Him To Remove Necklace, Glasses During Search A Nigerian police officer has come under scrutiny after a viral video captured him threatening and allegedly assaulting a motorist who questioned the manner in which officers searched his vehicle. The footage, published by SaharaReporters on Tuesday and shared on X by @MR__sulaiman2, showed a Mobile Police (MOPOL) officer wearing a name tag reading “Afambu Uche” confronting the driver. The disagreement reportedly started when the motorist politely asked the officers to search one section of his vehicle at a time, so he could monitor their actions. “Please sir, can you close the door, let’s focus on one side. Let him close the door so we can focus here, so that I can see what he is doing,” he said. However, one officer questioned the necklace around his neck and appeared to suggest it was a charm. “What is this one on your neck?” the officer asked, before insisting, “Bring it out! What is necklace? Is it not tailsman?” When the driver questioned why he had to remove it, the officer reportedly ordered him to do so and threatened to teach him a lesson. “I will teach you a lesson you have not learned in your life. Open your bag. We are moving you to criminal charge, you are making noise. Who are you?” he said, before ordering the motorist to remove his glasses. “Remove the glass in your face. I say remove the glass in your face! Don’t put the glass on until I finish searching,” the officer added. The confrontation intensified when the driver questioned why he was being harassed for asking questions. The officer also ordered him to put away his phone and glasses. However, the motorist insisted on recording the encounter, saying, “I wouldn’t put my phone in my pocket. Why are you assaulting me? I won’t put my phone in my pocket!”
