Today I highlighted to @Commonswomequ the importance of preventative #DomesticAbuse work.
Services tell me that preventative interventions are essential. Yet they are only funded for crisis support.
The solution is long-term investment; the opportunity is the #VictimsBill

MYTH: Rape is always violent or involves physical force.
FACT: Rape doesn't always leave visible signs on the body. Perpetrators use manipulative techniques to intimidate and coerce their victims.

FACT: It’s common for people who experience rape, sexual assault, sexual abuse or other types of sexual violence to find they can’t move or speak. This is one of our bodies’ automatic responses to fear and is designed to keep us safe.

Today's announcement is a victory for Jade's family and a welcomed start towards protecting children from violence.
While this is a vital step forward, we urge the government to go further to end contact with dangerous perpetrators in the family courts.
