Meet the Arctic Tern BMC development kit! raptorcs.com/content/AT1MB1/… raptorcs.com/content/AT1PC2/… Based on the Lattice ECP5 FPGA and requiring absolutely no proprietary HDL, firmware, or tooling to use, Arctic Tern makes an excellent platform for work on secure #OpenPOWER systems.

The best analogy we have is: could you run all of Bitcoin as it stands today using nothing more than some 486-class computers from 1990 (like these) and some custom accelerator devices that you have zero control over? If not, FPGA won't fix the mess...

In a nutshell: a single control daemon that can persist settings for fan curves, and expose those settings (along with current values) to the rest of OpenBMC. Here's an example of what we *should* be able to do -- would need significant changes throughout OpenBMC & vendor buy-in.

SSH access is not needed any more, just accessing a Web page on the BMC from the other PC. It's getting closer at any rate!
