Es inaceptable e injustificado negarle la visa para Puerto Rico a @AdaColau por ser pacifista y defensora de derechos humanos. El @DeptEstadoPR deberia intervenir al igual que el Comisionado Residente @RepPabloJose exigir una investigación (congressional inquiry) sobre este terrible precedente diplomático y de respeto al derecho internacional por ser un accionar profundamente discriminatorio motivado por razones políticas injustificadas.

En apenas par de días, dos reiteraciones de la voluntad imperialista de los EU: la negativa del visado a @AdaColau, y la petición de que cesen los trabajos del Comité de Descolonización de la ONU que cada año recibe testimonios sobre la situación colonial de Puerto Rico. Lo primero es muestra del autoritarismo provinciano de la administración Trump y de sus seguidores. @AdaColau es candidata a la presidencia de España y ex alcaldesa de Barcelona. Hace par de años visitó Puerto Rico y la recibimos en mi oficina del Senado. Aislarnos del mundo es parte de una visión primitiva de insularismo político: ese es el separatismo tóxico de EU. En cuanto al Comité de Descolonización, desde el 1953, los EU han tratado de negar el carácter colonial del ELA. Hoy, quieren silenciar un espacio de denuncia en el cual cada año son señalados, a estas alturas del siglo 21, como un poder antidemocrático que nos niega un proceso descolonizador.
