As Policy BootCamp '26 celebrated its 10th edition, Rashtram School of Public Leadership, Rishihood University proudly unveiled the official Policy BootCamp Anthem—a tribute to a decade of nurturing public leaders committed to building Bharat.
More than a song, the anthem captures the spirit of every delegate who has walked through the corridors of Policy BootCamp with curiosity, conviction, and a commitment to public service. It celebrates ten years of meaningful conversations, transformative experiences, lifelong friendships, and a shared vision of nation-building.
For a decade, Policy BootCamp has brought together aspiring policymakers, civil servants, entrepreneurs, researchers, and changemakers from across India, equipping them with the knowledge, values, and leadership needed to shape the future of governance.
As the anthem echoed through the Convocation ceremony, it became a celebration of every idea debated, every challenge embraced, and every leader inspired over the past ten years.
This is more than an anthem. It is the voice of a generation that believes in leading with purpose, serving with integrity, and shaping the future of Bharat.
Here's to the next decade of inspiring ideas, courageous leadership, and transformative public policy.

Delighted to deliver a guest lecture (virtually), “Shaped and Being Shaped: The Two-Way Street Between India’s Domestic Politics and Foreign Policy,” for Master’s students of international relations at National Chengchi University @nccu1927, Taipei, Taiwan. 💻 🇹🇼
The lecture explored the domestic determinants of India’s foreign policy, as well as how developments in the international arena can, in turn, have implications for domestic politics.
Many thanks to Dr. @manojkupani for inviting me to engage with the diverse cohort of students from across the world. 🌏

🇮🇳 🇯🇵 In my article for @EastMojo, I examine how the India-Japan partnership is helping transform the region’s infrastructure, connectivity and economic landscape.
From projects such as the Dhubri–Phulbari bridge and Aizawl–Tuipang highway to the emerging @TataElectronics semiconductor facility in Jagiroad, Assam, the partnership is moving beyond traditional infrastructure development.
Japanese companies including @TokyoElectron_J and @FujifilmJP_X are also becoming part of the emerging semiconductor ecosystem, while skill-development and mobility programmes are creating new opportunities for young people from the Northeast to work in Japan.
These developments are helping integrate the Northeast more closely with Southeast Asia and the wider Indo-Pacific, reinforcing its role not simply as a frontier, but as a gateway to the Indo-Pacific.

🚧🚨 Why is disorder in one democracy treated as evidence of democratic failure, while disorder in another is treated as a challenge to be managed?
In my latest piece for @CNNnews18, I examine the contrasting ways in which protests, public disorder, and state action are framed in India and France.
The right to peaceful protest is fundamental to any democracy. But protecting that right does not mean surrendering the state’s responsibility to maintain public order.
The article looks at the ongoing controversy surrounding the Election Commission and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), the growing tendency to treat political allegations as established facts, and the broader danger of delegitimising democratic institutions without evidence.
The comparison with France raises a larger question: should the same standards apply when we assess protests, public disorder, policing, and democratic resilience across different democracies?
Dissent is democracy. Disorder is not. Scrutiny is democracy. Demagoguery is not.

Prof. @shobweet highlights, changing US immigration policies could lead fewer Indian students to view the US as their default destination for higher education and career opportunities.
Could this be an opportunity for India to strengthen its own higher education ecosystem?
The challenge is to create an environment that retains and nurtures talent through quality education, research opportunities, and pathways to build globally competitive technologies at home.
In a panel discussion organised by the Rashtram , experts explored these questions through a broader strategic lens “Reforming Higher Education to Achieve Technological Sovereignty in India: A Strategic Roadmap for Achieving Technological Independence.”

A shift in US immigration policy could offer an unexpected silver lining for India, an opportunity to turn its global tech talent into a driving force for innovation at home.
But bringing talent back is only part of the solution. India must build an ecosystem that enables professionals to pursue research, drive innovation, and develop globally competitive technologies.
At a panel discussion organised by the Rashtram School of Public Leadership, RU, experts explored a critical question "𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐞, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐞?"

@RajatSethi86
In a recent interview with @ShivaniGupta_5 on @CNNnews18 , Prof. @shobweet , Vice Chancellor, Rishihood University, discusses the potential silver lining for India, the opportunity for skilled professionals who have traditionally moved abroad to stay back, build in India, and develop indigenous technologies for the country.
However, retaining talent requires more than opportunity. India must build an ecosystem that supports innovation through good career opportunities, research funding, ease of doing business, and the capacity to develop globally competitive technologies.
This challenge was also at the heart of a policy discussion organised by Rashtram School of Public Leadership which brought together voices from technology, public policy, and national security to examine a critical question "Why does India produce tech engineers at scale, but not technology builders ?"
The path to technology sovereignty lies not just in producing skilled talent, but in empowering that talent to research, innovate, build, and lead from India.

Shri Shiv Aroor, Managing Editor, NDTV, explains why regimental histories are so important to understanding the human side of military history.
While documented accounts of wars and military operations often focus on battalions, movements, weapons, hardware and strategy, regimental histories preserve something equally important, the human experience behind them.
They carry stories, anecdotes and oral testimonies of how events unfolded, different accounts of operations, and remarkable stories of soldiers’ courage.
Preserved within regiments as part of their traditions, these accounts offer a deeper insight into the evolution of a regiment, its thought process, morale, motivations and what keeps its soldiers human.

Prof. Dr. Shobhit Mathur, Vice-Chancellor, Rishihood University, participated in the Public Affairs Forum of India’s (PAFI) 13th Annual Forum, themed “Leading India 2047: The Next Leap.” The panel also featured Shri Shashank Mani, Shri Krishna Devarayalu Lavu, and Smt. Aparajita Bharti, and was moderated by Shri Sukumar Ranganathan.
During the discussion, Prof. Mathur highlighted the urgent need to place higher education at the centre of India’s national development agenda. With more than 10 million young people entering higher education every year, universities have a critical four-year window to help students bridge learning gaps and become productive, fulfilled, and active contributors to society.
India’s demographic dividend is not automatic. Realising its potential requires structural reforms, institutional commitment, and closer alignment between government and universities. As India navigates technological disruption, geopolitical realignments, and intensifying global competition, investing in its people and expanding domestic capabilities will be essential for sustained growth.
Rishihood University is proud to support PAFI year after year and contribute to conversations shaping India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047.

🇮🇳 🇨🇳 What does Xi Jinping’s return to India after seven years tell us about where India-China relations are headed?
The answer may lie in an increasingly important combination of deterrence and dialogue, pursued together.
In my latest article for @indfoundation's Chintan, I examine the recent trajectory of India-China relations and the emerging contours of New Delhi’s approach towards Beijing.
Xi Jinping’s visit to New Delhi for the BRICS Summit was the latest in a series of engagements that have unfolded since the October 2024 Modi-Xi meeting in Kazan. From the subsequent SCO meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping to the engagement between NSA Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, the relationship has been moving through a gradual process of recalibration.
India continues to strengthen deterrence through military preparedness, supply-chain diversification, and sustained engagement with partners across the Indo-Pacific. At the same time, renewed diplomatic and institutional engagement with China is creating channels to manage competition, communicate red lines, and reduce the risk of disagreements escalating into wider crises.
The recent opening should neither be read as a strategic rapprochement nor dismissed as mere diplomatic theatre. It reflects an effort to stabilise the relationship without assuming away the strategic competition between the two countries.

Rashtram School of Public Leadership, Rishihood University, in collaboration with @Rupa_Books , organised the launch of "The Curious and the Classified: Unearthing Military Myths and Mysteries" by @ManojNaravane (Retd.), former 28th Chief of the Army Staff.
With a military career spanning over four decades, General Naravane brought a wealth of experience to a conversation that went beyond battles and military operations. The panel, featuring Nitin Gokhale, Strategic Analyst & Founder, Bharat Shakti; @ShivAroor, Managing Editor, NDTV; and Prof. Shobhit Mathur, Vice-Chancellor, Rishihood University, with Neelanjana Banerjee as moderator, explored the human adventure stories, experiences and realities behind the uniform.

As Shri Ambuj Sahu explains, the Chinese market is one of the most difficult for foreign films to break into. Yet Dangal offers a powerful example of its ₹2,000+ crore global earnings, roughly two-thirds came from China.
As India’s economy grows and people’s purchasing power increases, Indian stories can begin to resonate with wider audiences across the West, the Middle East and China. But cracking China may require more than the sheer power of our stories. It could also benefit from greater cultural and diplomatic engagement between the two countries.
Could India and China explore opportunities to create space for films that are culturally significant and resonate with audiences in both countries?
Imagine an Indian film like Kantara or Baahubali finding a wider audience in China. Cinema could become an important bridge for India–China cultural exchange.
