One city is saying goodbye to glue traps. Ventura, California has banned the sale and use of glue traps, which immobilize mice, rats and other animals on extremely sticky surfaces. Animals caught on them can suffer prolonged injuries and distress while trying to escape, and unintended wildlife can become trapped, too. The new ban is aimed at encouraging more humane approaches to rodent control and protecting animals from unnecessary suffering. What a good day to be a rat!

Rat "Boggling" (The Happy Eye Wiggle) When rats are super happy and relaxed, like when they are getting snuggled or petted, they do something really cute: Teeth Rubbing: First, they gently rub their top and bottom teeth together. This is called bruxing, and it’s basically a rat's version of a cat's purr! Eye Wiggling: Because their jaw muscles connect right behind their eyes, rubbing their teeth makes their eyeballs pop slightly in and out very fast. This funny, adorable eye wiggle is called boggling, and it just means your rat is completely full of joy!
