SO IT BEGINS 😈

Ravens announce that their deal to acquire veteran QB Jacoby Brissett from the Arizona Cardinals is official.
They are giving up their 2027 fourth rounder and a 2028 seventh rounder. They get back Brissett and a 2027 fifth rounder.

We have signed QB Austin Reed to the 53-man roster and placed QBs Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley on injured reserve.
We have also elevated OLB Adisa Isaac and kicker Jake Moody from the practice squad (standard elevations) for tonight’s game.

Trade: The #Ravens are finalizing a trade for former #AZCardinals QB Jacoby Brissett, per me and @AdamSchefter, filling the void left by the injuries to Lamar Jackson and Tyler “Snoop” Huntley.
The deal is expected to be completed this weekend.

Sources: tests revealed that Ravens’ QB Tyler “Snoop” Huntley suffered a season-ending turf toe injury.
Ravens QB Lamar Jackson is out indefinitely with a thumb injury, Huntley’s season is over due to turf toe, and QB Joe Fagnano will start Thursday night vs. Jacksonville.
I am all for moving on from EDC and bringing in a new mentality at GM, but here’s the thing:
1. EDC offered Linderbaum a record setting deal but the Raiders unreasonably offered him 10M more than the highest paid center which was far more than the Ravens could offer.
2. EDC took some of the money, and put it toward John Simpson, one of the best available free agent guards in a lackluster market.
3. DeCosta selected Vega Ioane with his 1st round pick, who’s been an absolute stud so far in his career.
4. EDC then signed 3 good centers to take over and compete at the position, whom all ended up suffering season ending injuries.
5. He traded for an All-Pro center to solidify the offensive line.
6. In Jurgens first game as a Raven, EDCs 1st round guard Vega Ioane suffered an injury.
7. In Lamar’s first game back, Vega was an inactive due to his knee injury.
It’s very easy to say EDC didn’t build a competent OL, but there really isn’t much more EDC could’ve done in a singular offseason. The injury bug just hasn’t been on our side.

Ian Rapoport on Lamar Jackson's future with the Ravens:
"I believe he wants to be in Baltimore. I believe very strongly that Lamar Jackson wants to be in Baltimore, wants to be there long-term...He likes Baltimore...I believe they will make it work next year and beyond"
