Texas was built by hope. By people who had no business believing — but believed anyway.
To every Texan who’s ever wondered if anyone in power is paying attention: We are taking our state back.
Because a little bit of hope is a dangerous thing.

In 1988 Dolly Parton pulled every 7th and 8th grader in Sevier County into a room and told them to pick a buddy.
She made them sign a contract.. if BOTH graduate, she hands you both $500. One fails, nobody gets paid.
The county dropout rate went from 35% to 6%.
She handed out the checks herself.
In 1989 she offered $500 to every kid in the county who wanted to go to the local college.
When Gatlinburg burned in 2016, she sent 900 families $1,000 a month for six months.
You've probably heard that part.
Here's the part you haven't:
The fund raised more than expected, so she showed up in May and handed every one of those families another $5,000 on top.
Then she quietly put $3 million into the recovery group that handles the years after the news trucks leave.
She built her county an entire hospital.
She played a benefit concert in 2007, Dollywood and the Stampede matched it, and LeConte Medical Center opened in 2010 with a birthing unit and a women's center in it.
In 2022 she started covering 100% of tuition, books, and fees for Dollywood employees.
Full-time, part-time, AND seasonal.
In 1991 she paid for a bald eagle sanctuary because the birds couldn't be released back into the wild, no press release.
And when Hurricane Helene came through here in Western North Carolina, she wrote a personal check for $1 million and her companies matched it.
She didn't owe North Carolina anything, but she helped us anyway.
She started the Imagination Library because her daddy couldn't read or write. Before he passed, he told her it was the most important thing she ever did.
Rest in Peace, Dolly 🇺🇸

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like we're in for another round of public land attacks from President Trump this week.

Shannon Sharpe says the biggest difference in game 6 was SGA not getting all the foul calls:
“You see the difference when they don’t every time SHAI LOOK AT SOMEBODY, THEY BLOW THE WHISTLE. YOU SEE THIS? You see the difference when he’s shooting three, four free throws. Now he still Oh, he going to fall now. He going to shoot a shot and fall. If I didn’t know better hell, I thought the snipers had got him. I’m like, “Damn, BRO. CAN YOU STAY UP? WHY YOU KEEP FALLING EVERY TIME YOU SHOOT THE BALL? HE LIKE ONE OF THEM FAINTING GOATS.”

Police warned her not to sing it. Billie Holiday didn’t care. “Strange Fruit” was too important to stay silent.

It should be mandatory for every trainee PGA professional to do a minimum of two weeks with the greenstaff, the reality of what you think they do versus what they actually do is unbelievable, one of the most useful things I ever did 👌
If Michigan loses by a td that call will not be forgotten for a long time. Loose and no question his foot hit out of bounds! 👀

Sending prayers up for our lost love ones, their families, friends, and their communities. This is an unimaginable tragedy, please wrap their families and friends with love and support as they try to get through this very difficult time. Our organization has taken a tremendous hit and we are deeply saddened by the events that unfolded yesterday. We will continue to be here for the families of our players and coaches that we have lost. As program director I want to say thank you to everyone who has reached out, we truly appreciate our basketball family, and community. Man, please hold your loved ones a little bit tighter, and tell them you love them. To all of you who I’ve met along this journey, we may not speak daily, but man I want to say I love you guys and thanks for any memories we’ve made along the way. Life is so short man. Smh 😢…but the black and gold will stay strong and unified for our loved ones. We love you fellas, fly high, and rest in love. 🖤💛
