Ruud Nijstad. 18. 195cm. LCB. Already starting for Twente. That profile is why elite clubs are looking. He is not one player. Some nights he plays the touchline like a left-back. Other nights he tucks in like a CB. Same left-sided slot. Two distinct jobs. 🧵👇 1/9 #FCB #Barça

Los pases de Cubarsí y las conducciones de Nijstad darían una salida de balón en defensa inigualables...

What a goal by Ruud Nijstad. The 18-year-old LCB who plays for FC Twente is being heavily linked with FC Barcelona. And, for those who may have missed out on it, there’s a brand-new thread on his fit to the Catalans on my page.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have the chance to watch Real Madrid’s earlier match. My cousin messaged me “genius” for writing about Arda Güler early on. Scouting him in the academy days was one of the best experiences. I could tell immediately. Then he made his way into the first team, and as I built connections in Türkiye, I was invited to the Türkiye Kupası Final, where Fener won 2–0 and he was MOTM. That was one of the most incredible individual performances I’ve witnessed firsthand from a young player. That was the day I knew Arda Güler was going to explode.

Really great job scouting this guy. Clubs needs to travel wide to find great talents but these days, big moves is what everyone wants to do

To any Barca fan out there keen to understand who Ruud Nijstad is or what we’ll be getting, look no further… From the horse’s mouth, from someone who worked at FC Twente, do give this thread a read ⤵️

For the first time in 16 years, Hajduk Split is back on European competitions. Even though it’s the UECL, and not the UEL, that should be highly respected. Perhaps some will disagree, but, in my eyes, it could be, at least partially, thanks to Robert Graf, the hard-working SD.

Barcelona are looking at a 19-goal striker. The easy label is “poacher”. It is incomplete. Tresoldi’s season says something more specific: a right-footed, box-first finisher who can connect a move before becoming its endpoint. The real question is whether that travels. 1/12

Truth be told. Allan does fit the type of winger Enzo Maresca prefers to have: direct, good in 1v1s and multi-dimensional. Have a read.
