This is exactly right. The libs are a displaced clergy. Leftism since at least the early 1990s has been a religious project. ourlateempireamerica.substac…

This is the answer, perfectly prepared proteins. Texas brisket, lechon, fried chicken, properly seared scallops, a well aged steak cooked medium rare.

This path was made necessary by the push to send everyone to college when the factories closed. Universities had lots of students, they couldn't really contribute intellectually, but they could be made agents of moral change. A market failure.

The synthesis of these positions is that this round of elite overproduction is demographically atypical. We sold lots of credentials to women especially, and Wokeness is essentially how women fight civil wars.

Korean in the top ten and tied with Thai is a garbage take. Vietnamese and Indonesian are both far superior to Korean. Thai, especially northern Thai, is elite.

It is a little tough to compare cuisines. There are complimentary cuisines (like French) and balancing cuisines (like Thai), all can blow your hair back done well. Cuisines that do both well are rare. Coastal Mexican is one, Indonesian is another.

NGOs and think tanks and other orgs that host debates and discussions often in their invitations and announcements describe events as "otr" to allow for frank discussion of challenging issues. This has nothing to do with journalism.

The FCC stuff is dumb. 3 days ago, you could say, "look, we do civilised debate and they kill us for it, we are good, they are animals." Now, you have to defend bringing the full force of the federal gov. to silence a comic no one watches. Could just punch yourself in the balls.

I think that was precisely my point.

Or the lesson is that, when in power, job 1 is: don't be annoying. The folly of DEI, and gender stuff isn't just that it is wrong, but it is annoying. Politically, annoying is more important. Messing with the TV is probably low political ROI. Handover high ground for Kimmel?

It is most definitely an ale. Ale yeast ferments at around room temperature, which makes IPA cheap to make. Lagers need refrigeration to ferment properly. That's why micro breweries avoid them. Too much $$$$

Lagering is expensive because you need refrigeration. Light ales punish brewers with poor temperature control. IPA is trash beer that you can choke down after a boat ride to the colonies in the unbelievable heat.

The dynamics that lead here are almost cruel. No professor along the way stopped the author to explain, "ad hominem arguments are fallacious because an argument's veracity is independent of the character of the speaker." 8+ years of education, can't do logic 101. Failing up!

There are two claims, that these can contain 'logical content' and that this proves af hominem abusive should not be a fallacy in AAA, or maybe at all. The first is true and uncontroversial, the second is nonsense.

Under-capable, over-credentialed persons saw the competitive landscape and decided to ace their competition.

The unis. "College for all" of the 1990s gave unis lots of students of below grade competence and their money. Can't teach em to be smart, might as well teach em to be "good.' Everyone can be "good." Just ask them?

It's both horrifying and fascinating to behold.
