On 10 February 2026, The WCPP hosted a cocktail event for foreign representatives, attended by members of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps, Provincial Ministers, Permanent Delegates of the NCOP, and Members of the WCPP. The programme opened with remarks by Gillion Bosman, Chief Whip of the Majority Party, followed by a keynote address delivered by Deputy Speaker Reagen Allen. Mr Nicolae Zaharescu, Consul General of Romania and Dean of the Cape Town Consular Corps delivered a reply on behalf of the gathered foreign representatives.

Deputy Speaker Reagen Allen and the Secretary to the Provincial Parliament Ressida Begg, bid farewell to Ms Candice Morris from the ITDS Department and thank her for her years of service and contribution to the Western Cape Provincial Parliament. We wish her well in her future endeavours.

This morning Deputy Speaker @ReagenAllen and Minister Deidré Baartman had the pleasure of joining DeafSA Western Cape 5km Silent Walk. The walk highlighted the disconnect between the Deaf and hearing communities and underscored the importance of bridging this gap, especially between the Deaf community and various spheres of government. 🤟🧏

Today, the WCPP proudly hosted the Western Cape men’s dialogue, presided over by Deputy Speaker @ReagenAllen. The dialogue focused on tackling gender-based violence (GBV), toxic masculinity, and promoting social responsibility, with input from several non-governmental organisations, religious sectors, traditional leaders, youth and community activists. Discussions included the man’s role in ending GBV, the road to boy's parliament, and 16 Days of Activism. This builds on the Western Cape Men’s Parliament held in November 2024. The WCPP is proud to be part of – and support – this very important initiative. #EndGBV
