Interestingly when I reviewed portfolios I spend less than a minute and watch the first few seconds of 1-3 videos. I don’t care about template, I care the videos work when I press play and I prefer they don’t autoplay all at once.

I know I’m preaching to the choir (shoutout to @RealCreatives_ for talking about this too), but don’t be afraid to respectfully give feedback on a client’s script.
Recently, I received a brief with a script that felt repetitive and too wordy for how people actually talk.
Instead of reading it exactly as written, I asked if I could make it more conversational while keeping every required message intact.
Their response? An immediate yes. 👏🏻
Sometimes there are legal or compliance reasons a script has very little flexibility. But this wasn’t one of those cases.
That’s one of the biggest mindset shifts I’ve made as a creator.
Early on, I would’ve been too nervous to speak up. Now I know my job isn’t just to read lines,
it’s to help brands communicate in a way that feels authentic.

An underrated #UGC tip is learning how to deliver files professionally. Brands expect clean file names when uploaded to your Drive especially when it involves raw footage clips. No brand wants to open a folder full of “IMG_234.MOV.”
