I have an announcement... When I decided that @LockedOnCavs was for me, I decided that wasn't going to be the only way I covered the team. Now, I'm launching my new @substack, The Inside Shot. If you're a #Cavs fan, I think you'll like it. open.substack.com/pub/dcunni…

#Cavs hang on to beat the Nets 125-121 in a game that was much, much closer than it should have been. Cleveland led by 22 before nearly collapsing in the fourth quarter. Mobley and Allen combined for 41 points on 14-of-20 shooting. Mitchell had 22 to lead the way.

Unless the rule changed and I wasn't aware of it, you only get one challenge in the NBA and you get a second one if the first challenge is successful.
Replying to @RealDCunningham
Don't they have two challenges?

I'm not sure why Brooklyn is allowed to challenge this call after getting a challenge wrong earlier.

#Cavs led this one by as many as 22 early in the fourth quarter and it's down to four with 26.4 left in regulation after Peyton Watson fouls out on an illegal screen call. Cleveland has turned it over eight times in the quarter and the Nets have made eight 3s. Recipe for disaster.

Day'Ron Sharpe has been ejected from the game after picking up his second flagrant foul of the night. Which basically means he just can't sit on the bench because his second flagrant foul was also his sixth foul of the night, disqualifying him.

Nets are 5-of-7 on 3s so far in the fourth quarter and they've cut Cleveland's 22-point lead down to 11 at 108-97. Egor Demin and Mikel Brown Jr. have hit all five 3s they've taken.

Kenny Atkinson moves to 3-0 on challenges in the young season.

#Cavs lead the Nets 96-80 through three quarters. While not perfect, the Cavs have played a relatively strong three quarters on both ends of the floor. Ball movement has been really good even if they've turned it over a few more times than they'd like.

#Cavs have 21 assists on 28 made baskets so far tonight. Had just 18 on 39 baskets on Thursday against Philly. Ball movement has been much, much better tonight.

#Cavs lead the Nets 68-54 at halftime. Cleveland has done a solid job of keeping its defensive activity in a good place throughout the half. Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen both have 13 to lead the Cavs.

Tyrese Proctor hasn't scored -- or even attempted a shot -- during this stint, but I think he's had a really nice impact for the #Cavs. A couple of steals and a couple of assists.

Brooklyn just challenged a play thinking that James Harden may have stepped out of bounds before taking that 3-pointer and it ends with the defensive foul being upgraded to a Flagrant 1. Tough break for them.

Jarrett Allen just hit a 3-pointer.

#Cavs lead the Brooklyn Nets 35-30 after Mario Hezonja beats the buzzer with a 3-pointer from the left corner. Cavs have done a lot of good things and a few untimely bounces of the basketball have made this game a little bit closer.

The Cavs just ran one of the more remarkable in-game giveaways, in which a fan was gifted a 65-inch TV. To make it happen James Harden operated a human claw machine with Ahmaad Crump, the in-arena host, acting as the claw. Incredible.

That's an absolutely absurd pass from Harden to Jarrett Allen. No idea how that ball got there.
