This is actually a very popular Christian heresy
Unpopular Christian opinion: It's okay to disagree with Paul.

Christianity provides all rights and duties that are needful to build beauty at scale. A finite life lacking rights or duties is solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short.

John Flavel’s “Keeping the Heart” is short and wonderful. About a 3.5 hour listen at 1x speed. My first time reading it was in my 20s I did not appreciate it sufficiently. it is a beautiful model of godly counsel expressed concisely. Heavenly truth available to earthly saints. 🧵

Main text: Proverbs 4:23: "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life." Doctrine: Keeping and rightly managing the heart in every condition is one great business of a Christian's life.

Matt 12:34-35: "For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things."

Pay attention to this.
Some confusion about this post. Jesus taught to normally pray to the Father in Jesus’ name, recognizing Jesus as Mediator. When you pray to the Father and conclude “in *your* name” you are praying in the Father’s name which conflates Father and Son which is practical heresy.

Yes. We are men of unclean lips living amongst a generation with unclean lips. The temptation to complain and whine is strong. God forgives us for our complaining and whining in Jesus. Let’s go and do what needs to be done. By the grace of God, we will overcome the world.
Millennials: You are the most soft-handed, therapy-obsessed, grievance-collecting generation in American history. You analyze your childhood traumas while the enemy is actively dispossessing your bloodline. You aren’t “healing”; you’re stagnating. Stop the navel-gazing and look at the horizon. Your children are going to be living in the mess you were too busy whining to fix.

Taxing inheritance is envy dressed up as policy.
BREAKING: United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby called for a national wealth and inheritance tax "close to 100% on the ultra-wealthy.”

Amazon shuts off @ARBodyArmor on Amazon over and over again and wont let us sell armor or carries . They let our Chinese competitors go free for long stretches on carriers.
Let’s face it: Amazon is a Chinese storefront, by and large. Untold riches have exited our country by virtue of fake reviews that result in loss of hard-earned American dollars. If Musk could pull this off + supply chain transparency, it would be incredible.

Getting a lot of push back on this. But it is. The Bible is the Word of God. Scripture is the mind of Christ revealed to us.
The Bible is the Word of God Written.

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God. All Scripture is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. Scripture is sufficient to teach the man of God to be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
The Bible is the Word of God Written.

God demands the death penalty in all nations for murderers.
Capital punishment can be just in extreme circumstances if necessary to protect the common good, but not in modern America. The Bible does not mandate capital punishment in America. To argue God demands the death penalty today in America is not biblical.

From what I can tell, Voetius’s view of Sabbath practice was as strict as the Westminster/Puritan view. This doesn’t mean all the continental Reformed were this strict, but it does show that the Westminster view was present among the Dutch Reformed.
Voetius—one of the leading Dutch Reformed theologians—said the view that the Sabbath is abolished was that of the Mennonites (anabaptists) and Socinians (heretics). So much for the claim that the “continental Reformed” weren’t Sabbatarian.
