"Destruction of religious freedom"... no, its not, its about revoking a carve out in the law afforded to your group. If the Catholic church mandated that all Catholics should carry broad swords it wouldn’t be permitted in the UK as "religious freedom" aren’t automatic rights.
For Sikhs, the kirpan is an article of faith reminding us of our sacred duty to combat oppression and tyranny. To do good in this world.
It is pure bigotry and a complete destruction of the religious freedom of the fifth largest world religion (more Sikhs than Jews fyi) to prohibit it because one person misused it.
