Those of you just finding out that all cars built in 2026 are to come with mandatory kill switches, welcome to the party. It was passed last year as part of the infrastructure bill. It's once again time to raise the alarm. teapawt.net/RealJeffGfetus/status/…
You don't believe what? The 2026 rule was passed last year as part of the infrastructure bill. The EU thing isn't a secret either. If you don't see a difference between a top end speed limiter and a "smart" system that won't let you do 36 mph, i don't know what to tell you.

this is my favorite collectivist conciet: "imagine if this <insert rich person> had used their <amount of money> on this issue we have spent billions and trillions on for decades with zero positive effect. they could have solved the whole thing!" it's such a fetching confluence of delusion and a weird faith that if you take the money of effective people and give it to the same people who have squandered every cent they have seen for decades, the money itself will somehow remain impactful as though tripling public school spending has worked to improve education. it seems to underpin a profound misunderstanding of how to usefully allocate capital combined with an essentially animistic belief that outcome is somehow a property of the money itself and not of the allocator, like somehow musk has some sort of magically effective cash to which NGO's and government agencies are not generally privy.
Imagine if Elon's $500 million had been spent on education or healthcare. Or the arts. Anything.

It is once again time to celebrate Islamophobia Awareness Month. Take some time to learn why you too should be Islamophobic.
This Islamophobia Awareness Month, we must shine a light on the abhorrent hatred and discrimination Muslims continue to face. In the last year alone, religious hate crimes targeting Muslims rose by 15% in England and Wales. This is utterly unacceptable. London will always stand against hatred, prejudice and discrimination.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
UK security agencies still assess Islamist extremism as the largest terrorism threat. MI5's Islamist-related caseload remains roughly 75% of its counter-terrorism work, according to recent threat assessments. isdglobal.org/digital-dispat…

The Guest doesn't get enough love. This movie should be legendary for the soundtrack alone. Pairs well with Drive.

Tolkien created orcs to be so wholly devoid of good that no one could ever sympathize with them They are the agents of evil, unthinking brutes driven only by a desire to destroy that which is good and beautiful because they hate that such things exist So the left sides with them, naturally, and attempts to frame them as sympathetic characters, mainly because it wants to unleash such brutes upon us
[NEWS] “Marnûkh is a character meant to challenge long-held perceptions of Orcs. He’s such a departure from past depictions that within the production, Marnûkh has picked up the catchy nickname, “the Orc with an arc.” #TheRingsOfPower

"Most diverse cabinet" ever is 6 blacks and a white lady who probably had to check the gay box just to get considered for the job. No wonder Virginia has been on such a steep downward slide since Abby took over.
I’m proud to have the most talented, hardest-working cabinet in Virginia’s history. They are also the most diverse cabinet Virginia has ever seen. Every single one of our cabinet secretaries were selected because they’re the best of the best in their respective fields. They also bring invaluable perspectives from across the Commonwealth — from Danville, Hampton Roads, Richmond, NOVA, and more. I’m grateful to get to work with these incredibly dedicated, hard-working, and talented cabinet officials to serve the Commonwealth of Virginia. richmond.com/opinion/column/…

The Pope is now Vivek posting. What are we even doing here?
Faith can be embodied in all cultures, because it does not identify itself with any of them in a specific one. It dwells within them, shaping them from within according to the “form” of Jesus Christ; that is, through charity, service and the filial recognition of God’s fatherhood. In this way, the Church draws from the various cultures all that is good, beautiful and true, in order to embody and transmit the message of the Gospel. #GeneralAudience

I used to review officer-involved shooting reports generated by a D.A. explaining the decision to exonerate officers, and recall often thinking “I mean, could that *really* be how it went down?” I suspected there may be some fog of war or selective memory or post-hoc justification to give the officer a rational justification and paint the victim in a negative, irrational light. But with the post-2020 adoption of body cams, I now believe it all. There is no behavior too insane for a huge number of suspects when confronted with literally any command by an officer requesting some form of compliance. Even I thought body cams would shine a light on some substantial percentage of clear officer abuse, but it’s clearly negligible, while dangerous and erratic behavior by suspects is widespread. It is impossible to overstate how wrong BLM and reform activists were on this count.

Regardless of what the Pope says, holy wars are a good thing and Christianity needs more of them.

The left wing future is Zimbabwe It is South Africa It is Brazil It is race communism and anarchotyranny, the rot and stink of the global favela
The left-wing future is not Blade Runner or anything even half as cool. It’s a global favela. Every inch of habitable space covered with low-rise concrete dwellings erupting like boils from the skin of the earth. Billions and billions and billions of stupid people.

Sometimes you read old memoirs of Europeans who dealt with Africans and you think, "surely Africans have moved beyond such superstitions by now." And you'd be wrong, because here are a couple of guys who will shamelessly tell you they murdered "witches" on their way to Europe.
Europe is giving asylum and welfare to people who admit they killed a woman at sea on the way over there for being a "witch." Just think about this for a second.
