She will also become the first woman elected to lead the territory in more than five decades. Since 2015, Plaskett has represented the Virgin Islands in Congress, making history as the first territorial delegate appointed to the House Ways and Means Committee. Thank you, Florida. We didn’t get the result we fought for tonight. I’m not going to pretend that it doesn’t hurt. But I want y’all to hear me. What we built together is REAL. Every door you knocked, every call you made, every dollar you gave and every friend you brought to the polls proved that working people in this state are ready for something better. That movement isn’t going anywhere, and neither am I. The fight continues. Love, Angie 💗 #AngieForFlorida
