ok so far phantom blade is just alright. its another generic parry dodge game, theres not much thought to it and alot of the cool stylish animations are done for you, the player isnt in much control. but theres still fun to be had and id be lying if i said im not having any!

If you have worked in the game industry (or tech) for the last 15 years then you know what Avellone is saying is true.
Political activism and cronyism is to blame for killing these companies, because it ostracizes passionate devs who care about making fun games and instead promotes those who care about make games to support leftist agendas. What you end up with are companies who only care about gamers who share their same woke ideology, while ostracizing the majority of passionate gamers who once made up their base. You can't stay in business with this model.
I don't understand why people are surprised when this happens again and again. When you hire based on political cronyism instead of passion and merit you can expect the same results. Gamers want to have FUN when they play games. They want games to be a break from the doldrums of life. They don't want them to be vehicles to ram woke activism down their throats. They get enough of that from everywhere else. 🤦♂️

At least you CAN troubleshoot unoptimized games on PC. But what are folks able to do about it on console? Not like they can open up a few files and change a few values on a PS5. They're stuck waiting.

As someone who played exclusively on consoles all my life, until i fully switched to pc a year ago, it's so funny seeing pc criticized by people who clearly never played on one.
Fully switching to pc was the best decision i've ever made as a gamer.

It's because the PC vs console debate is a proxy for IQ.
People on PCs are willing to deal with greater friction for greater returns because they are higher in abstraction.

If you don't like AI art or anything AI related, that's fine. You can like or dislike anything for any or no reason at all, that's your right. But by running around harassing people who use AI and throwing tantrums, you aren't going to create some stigma around AI that will destroy it once and for all. You're just going to make people hate you for being an annoying bitch.
