If Liz Truss makes it to 96 she’ll have spent more days of her life at the Remembrance Sunday cenotaph than she ever spent in Downing Street.
Reminds me of the good ol days of the ARR loans in B2B SaaS… Good times
P.S. Please don’t try to fund your moonshot with debt, it very rarely ends well
can one of the private credit guys pls go rip a fund focused on 20-smthg sf founders?
there's a ton of places to get debt but i stg none of them are legible + accessible to the lil zucks running around sf. much needed in the age of asset heavy businesses accruing the most value
this would look like front office of a vc, back office of a trad credit firm
that means:
•on the ground in sf. talent mapping. events. hire a sourcer corgi girlie. be a chiller founders wanna hang with. this is the core differentiation from trad credit firms founders don't know personally
•legit financial dd, not vibes investing
•educate the lil zucks on asset classes and forms of financing. lack of financial literacy across the valley is astounding. we need a new form of education / accelerator, focused on financing for founders
•new form of network value-add for early stage founders. this neofirm would spike on PE style search algo connections, not ex. recruiting engineers
hmu if you do this. i have a ton of inflecting founder friends with "companies that touch atoms" who need you asap
I love Brosnan, but this is stuck culture (per @PaulSkallas) to the power of 2: not only have the Bond movies been remade a bunch of times, this would also mean bringing a retired Bond actor back for no great reason
At least pass the baton to a Millennial or a Zoomer (Henry Cavill has my unimportant vote)
I don't know why James Bond producers are auditioning anyone at all when Pierce Brosnan returning to the role is the absolute perfect idea. Have him come out of retirement because MI6 needs a veteran's expertise for a mission that no amateur 007 could ever accomplish. Brosnan still looks handsome as hell and the film would easily make a billion dollars to see perhaps the greatest actor to ever play Bond do it again.
Really cool to see all the retweets with a message of “seeing your trajectory is giving me hope in a pit of despair”
Lots of lonely folks out there looking for their family
It’ll work out for you too, anon - need to be optimistic and put yourself out there!

You realize this is a dream job for a sizable chunk of the population. Immured inside a big concrete cylinder & drip fed worm percocet so you can play Space Shipping Tycoon for 5,000 years in a row. There’s guys out there doing that for free right now
Can any dune book reader explain why anyone would choose to become a navigator in Dune?
In the world of Dune, navigators are barely human anymore. They spend years immersed in highly concentrated spice gas, causing their bodies to mutate severely until they resemble strange fish-like creatures. So, why would anyone accept such a terrible price?
You wanna know how I got these scars?
Well I was carrying the toddler on my shoulders and she dug her nails in my face and unfort I love her too much to punish her for the transgression

ok but hear me out
Shiii I could use a human sized device once in a while too
we have a winner for the most absurd AI startup ever
this Peter Thiel backed company uses AI robots to stab fish in the brain so they taste better and last up to 3x longer
it's called Shinkei and it modernizes a centuries-old Japanese technique
dozens of Michelin-star restaurants are already lining up to buy the fish
here's how it works:
> the problem is when a fish gets caught, it usually just suffocates on the boat
> that stress floods the meat with hormones and lactic acid, which hurts the flavor and texture
> the old Japanese fix for this was spiking the fish through the brain right after the catch, which stops all that
> but doing it by hand is impractical for most American fishing crews
> so Shinkei built a fridge-sized robot that sits right on the boat's deck
> the crew feeds in a fish and AI identifies the exact species, so it knows exactly where the brain and gills are
> the robot then drives the spike through the brain and cuts near the gills in about 7 seconds
> the fish goes into an ice slurry so the blood drains out
> so the fish doesn't sit there stressing out, and that tasty flavor and texture is preserved
example number 5,392,417 of how AI can be applied to literally anything
Earlier this year: friends working in SaaS (directly or investing) panicking
Now: people working in AI panicking
Guys… GUYS! Calm down and take your eyes off the Robinhood screen for a moment. Do good work and remember: wagmi

I’m also going to add on to this. Hearing mass panic in SF right now at ANT. Everyone is panicking over what will happen to their equity. Hearing a lot of things right now. Scary.
