Reveal is live.
Every Trace is now revealing into one of two starting forms: Base or Encoded Form.
1. Base is an unencoded composition built from the character’s symbols. Half of the total supply starts this way.
2. Encoded Form contains the character translated into a machine record using one of three encoding methods:
• Punched Card (the rarest)
• Binary
• Base64
Rarity applies specifically to the encoding method. Base exists outside of this hierarchy and isn’t meant to be compared with the three encoded types.
There’s no way to predict what you’ll receive, or which character is hidden behind an encoded artifact. This is intentional, no specific character could be targeted beforehand, including by me.
These starting forms and their differences will matter as Trace evolves, but moving forward is entirely optional.
Every stage is designed to stand on its own as a finished artwork. You can keep your Trace exactly as it is, or choose to explore what comes next.
