We lost a legend yesterday. Despite relishing in playing a provocateur, Steve Albini was at heart the conscience of underground rock. Albini was my main hero as a young man, and admired by all as an indie elder statesman. His work was great & not done. RIP nbcnews.com/pop-culture/rcnaβ¦

I'm deeply saddened to hear the news of Steve Albiniβs passing. Steve was a real gift to music and helped both The Wedding Present and Cinerama develop our sound and transform our identity. He was also a genuine person and a complete pleasure to be around.

Albini was the kind of interview where an answer to a routine question could stick in yr mind for decades after. thought often of this exchange from an interview w/ Mark Prindle, about Albini recording Jimmy Page & Robert Plant

Thank you Steve Albini for producing these remarkable albums. You gave us some of the best distinctive production in music.
RIP to one of the greats

Twitter really can be like a family. @RealsSeals and @TheBravesDH are like my brothers, @wil_deny and @Banger_ are my cool uncles. @musentango is like my nephew. Good times.

The Beatles 'White Album' is ultimately about fatigue of every kind: physical, spiritual, political and cultural. A soundtrack to the tedious indulgences of the 60's yielding only false prophets and dark portents. You say you want a revolution. It's been a long, long, long, time.
