I agree to an extent but London's greatest economic constraint is not homes, but the cost of homes and housing. Building more and more inappropriate housing is not the answer. Rent controls and council housing are what is desperately needed.

Unfortunately the rush to tick boxes on housing targets is prioritised over all else. Do these targets provide the homes we need, at affordable levels? Mostly not, & at best will load the current inadequate & ageing infrastructure with intolerable demand.

Draft London Plan targets 558,451 new home for London by 2026/37. However, the infrastructure requirements are also huge. In New Barnet the need for additional GPs was recognised but then HUDU failed to secure them. New homes without guaranteed infrastructure is unacceptable.
