Today I finish 7.5 years as @DevonWildlife trustee!
I'm more proud than I can put into words. DWT is a powerhouse made up of absolute legends.
But some things are circular...
2018: NPPF. 2025: P&I Bill.

Delighted to share that I am now a Trustee for @DevonWildlife!

With this devastating decision by @SteveReedMP today, being told what to do by #Nature hating @RachelReevesMP, this @UKLabour
Govt is causing probably the biggest weakening of environmental protections I can remember in this country
Mark my words, it will come back to bite them
Steve Reed has told MPs to vote down an amendment to the planning bill which would protect hedgehogs and dormice

When is @mhclg going to realise how few of this gov's voters want these "blockers" banished?
We deserve safe homes, not poor quality.
We deserve affordable homes, not a worsening housing crisis.
We deserve access to nature, not trashed habitats.
Hi @steveracemp – can I count on you to show up for the #CANBill on Friday? 🌿

You made this day possible. Those who gave up their lives and those who gave up their freedom. You have changed the meaning of dedication above and beyond the call of duty. May your glorious memory live on as the brightest of the night stars.
Breaking my Twitter silence to say that the accessibility of this is shocking.

A fascinating read.
In my view, this is an example of a well-balanced🧵. The reason we come across such posts much less frequently is because they require much more knowledge & work to write than biased ones. They are also much harder to read, hence fewer people reposting them.
I'm desperately sad about this, but it has been a highlight of my career to work with Getting on Board.

It seems that the insect apocalypse looms ever closer.

Update on how this is going: excellently. Have logged in three times. Once because someone told me I had a DM to respond to, once to reach an organisation, and once to share my photo of a an absolutely massive insect

First Google result for Dark Giant Horsefly (which I think this is) – @Dartmoor_AC's blog from 7 years ago! adriancolston.wordpress.com/…
This one is also in very central Exeter. In fact, it's still there as I write this, having a rest in my garden.
Also found two of these yesterday. Not bad for a Victorian terrace surrounded by Victorian terraces. #Exeter #Deilephilaelpenor

We're urging the Government to ban the use of toxic chemicals in public spaces to protect our urban environments. 🌳🏃♂️
Sign the petition 📝and call on the UK Government to #GoPesticideFree with a national ban on urban pesticide use. ✊
