Got barley or wheat in your oat seed? Sowing deep might be the solution. Thx @AllanRattey for the heads up!
Excited to work with POGP funding for my Master’s project looking at ability of #oats to emerge from #deepsowing! Oats sown at 100 mm on the left vs 30 mm. #Mesocotyl is an extension of #coleoptile, where oats is the only #cereal to have it 👀🌱

And Elon's solution to his bs tweet below? Slow down starshield so Ukraine can't defend themselves against the only tool thats working for Russia. Brilliant plan. Such a humanitarian.
What’s actually going on in Ukraine is that there is a massive incentive difference between the elites and the people. The former have grown very rich off the hundreds of billions flowing to Ukraine, while the latter’s children are conscripted to die in trenches.

So tomorrow, the first tanker carrying 40,000 metric tons of Russian diesel is set to depart for the US. Let’s do the math. 40,000 tons is roughly 300,000 barrels. The US consumes about 4 million barrels of diesel per day. That means this entire tanker covers less than two hours of American demand. At the same time, the US exports around 1.5 million barrels of diesel a day—meaning this shipment is equivalent to just 4.5 hours of US exports. The voyage from Ust-Luga to US terminals takes 2.5 to 3 weeks. By the time the tanker arrives, the US will have exported over 4 million tons of its own diesel—a hundred times more than what this single tanker is delivering. So, one of the world's largest diesel exporters is buying diesel from an aggressor state just to cover two hours of domestic consumption? - Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy Vladyslav Vlasiuk.

I'd like to remind Trump administration that after Iran war started, Ukraine deployed experts and technology to the Middle East to help Gulf states defend themselves against Iranian drones and protect US bases in the region, while Russia provided targeting information to Iran.

"Elon Musk ordered the slowdown of a military-grade version of Starlink relied on by Ukraine, a decision that sparked panic in Kyiv and confusion inside the Trump administration, U.S. officials and people familiar with the matter said. Both Musk and President Trump have expressed anger at Ukraine for attacking Russian diesel refineries in recent weeks, which the president blames for high energy prices. Last week, Musk capped the speeds at which Ukrainian hardware could stay connected to the satellite-based network, the people said, rendering some offensive drones and interceptor drones virtually useless." @jdawsey1 @alexbward @natalieandrews wsj.com/world/ukraine-starli…

So much wrong with this beyond aligning with Russia. Two significant & morally reprehensible lies stand out: 1. "Zelenskyy is using Diesel Refineries in Russia as a target, knowing that these attacks are seriously hurting the world diesel markets, including those in the United States." 2. "Zelenskyy doesn't care, and frankly, with all of the money that Europe is famously giving him, and that Crooked Joe Biden gave him in the past, he doesn't want to end this war, and probably never did."

Volodymyr Zelensky is deliberately driving up global oil prices by striking Russian oil infrastructure, and Americans are paying for it at the pump. Overnight into Sunday, Ukraine launched more than 1,000 drones that hit the St. Petersburg oil export terminal and the Ruchyi oil depot, setting both ablaze. One person was killed and others injured. This is not a defensive action. It’s an attack on energy supplies that affects markets worldwide. Trump already called Ukraine’s resumed strikes on Russian oil facilities a disgrace because they keep prices elevated. He pushed an energy ceasefire and reached a diesel agreement with Russia specifically to ease costs for American drivers and businesses. Zelensky ignored that. He resumed and expanded the attacks anyway. The St. Petersburg terminal is a major export facility. Hitting it doesn’t just hit Russia. It tightens supply and raises costs for everyone else, including the United States. Every strike on Russian oil infrastructure undercuts the leverage Trump is trying to use to end the war and keeps fuel prices higher than they need to be. Zelensky isn’t even pretending he prioritizes peace or the economic fallout on allies. Americans are funding Ukraine’s defense while also absorbing the price spikes from its offensive choices. The pattern is clear. He treats oil targets as fair game even when the stated goal is de-escalation. It’s time to put sanctions on Ukraine that restrict the tools and money used for these attacks. Cut the support that enables continued strikes on energy targets until Kyiv stops them and agrees to a real ceasefire. Peace comes from ending the incentives for endless escalation, not from subsidizing more of it. Zelensky has shown he won’t choose that path towards peace on his own. The United States should stop writing checks that help fund the very strikes driving up the cost of gas for American families.

Right vs Wrong Good vs Evil Support for Ukraine in defense of their country is as simple as that.
Since the American President announced the energy ceasefire a week ago, Russia has deliberately attacked Ukraine’s energy and oil and gas sectors 76 times. Last night alone, there were strikes on substations in the Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, and Odesa regions. Tens of thousands of families remain without power. Energy workers and repair crews are working virtually around the clock to restore electricity supply. Overnight, the Russians also struck residential buildings in our regions. As of now, 12 people have been reported injured, including two children. Two people have been killed. My condolences to their families and loved ones. This morning, there was a strike on an agricultural enterprise in Volyn. All necessary services are working at the site. In total, over this past week, the Russians have attacked Ukraine with almost 2,700 attack drones, 1,700 aerial bombs, and 66 missiles, most of them ballistic. The main targets of these strikes are energy facilities – the Russians are trying to cause a blackout. And America should see that Russia is not taking any reciprocal steps in response to sanctions relief or agreements. On the contrary, they take every signal of an opportunity to make money as proof that their bet on war is paying off and they can keep fighting. It is because of this position of Russia’s that the war continues, not because Ukraine is rightfully defending itself. It is Russia that must face pressure for peace to have a chance. Thank you to everyone who understands this and helps.

Replying to @realDonaldTrump
@realDonaldTrump If Russia cancels its illegal invasion of Ukraine and withdraws to its own borders, Ukraine will immediately stop hitting Russian diesel refineries. Problem solved.
Trump: "Zelenskyy has to do one thing -- he has to stop knocking out diesel fuel in Russia. He's causing a shortage of diesel fuel. This isn't done by the Middle East, this is done by what's happening with Russia and Ukraine."
