When i first played Mass Effect 1 i had no idea you had to manually go into the menu to level up. I thought they'd just automatically give me a level up screen when i do so.
Played all the way upto Virmire with zero upgrades and cursing that the game was too punishing : )
Writing wise? Sure. It was terrible.
But the gameplay definitely can't be called a failure. Even now it's one of the best feeling third person shooters on the market. A tragedy barely anyone iterated on the formula since then.
"I got that completely wrong" — Dan Houser considers Rockstar’s Max Payne 3 a failure. bit.ly/4s4u4MC
Really wish the suit was more damaged during the Hand fight so this scene looked more gnarly. I mean they cut it up during the operation anyway so it's not like they're against damaging the suit. Really odd decision.
They really don't joke when they say Silent Hill is the most larped game franchise in existence
I gotta say one thing I'm really dissapointed with so far is the music. Witcher 3's music was one of it's greatest strengths and it elevated it's exploration and emotional moments so much. Here most of it is just so... meh. It's like it's trying to imitate W3 but failing at it.
My brother in christ. Heather can hip fire a submachine gun with pin point accuracy and zero recoil in Silent Hill 3.
I do not think the janky controls or enemy AI are in any way intentional to portray that these people can't fight well 😭
