Who was the young cricket prodigy wielding a Duncan Fearnley bat at Port of Spain in 1988?
A promising 19-year-old left-hander stepped onto the pitch for just his second first-class match.
Facing the mighty Barbados bowling attack led by West Indies legend Joel Garner.
This young batsman would go on to become one of cricket's greatest ever players.
Can you guess the name of the player?

Pressed 'send' yesterday on my 36th review of a @NorthantsCCC season for @WisdenAlmanack. It's often said that failure is easier to write about than success - which is probably why it went through so many drafts this year! Judge for yourself when the yellow book appears in April.

A South Australian legend 🤝
Congratulations to Darren Lehmann on being announced as the next inductee into the 2026 South Australian Sport Hall of Fame.
One of South Australia's greatest cricketers, Lehmann remains the highest run-scorer in Sheffield Shield history with 12,971 runs and was a key member of the 1995-96 Sheffield Shield-winning side.

Alex Carey just loves the Sheffield Shield.
And that crucial ton in the final last season that helped South Australia to back-to-back titles capped a long and rewarding journey.
