Bortolini and Goncalves are going to be due extensions after 2027. If you’re only going to extend one, let it be Goncalves. He’s been an absolute stud, but with the cap space the Colts will have in the 2027 offseason, I’d try to extend both ASAP.
#Colts offensive line rest of season: LT - Raimann LG - Farmer C - Bortolini RG - Goncalves RR - Travis

The Indianapolis Colts drafted Rock Ya-Sin and Ben Banogu before AJ Brown and then drafted Parris Campbell before DK Metcalf and Terry McLaurin in the same draft.

Just thinking out loud. I've seen some folks saying Jonathan Taylor should be a player Carlie Irsay-Gordon builds around next year. He's a top-5 RB who's suffered w/mediocre team. But he'll be 28 next season w/300 more carries on his body. To me, that's not a building block.

Buckner was the easiest trade piece to connect with the team he would ultimately go to. The 49ers needed DLine help.
Trade: The #Colts are trading 3-time Pro-Bowl DT DeForest Buckner back to the #49ers, the team that made him a 2016 first-round pick before dealing him to Indianapolis in 2020, per me and @AdamSchefter. A reunion!! Now Buckner returns to SF, fortifying their defensive line.

I’d say a 4th at best will be the return for Downs. Another player due for an extension at the end of the year, so his value is a minimalistic rental.
So curious to see what the Colts can get when they move Josh Downs. Still a young player at a very important position, but somewhat limited and not that productive overall. No feel whatsoever about what a return would look like

I think a lot of people overestimate Josh Downs’ value to a WR room. We’ll see where he goes, but don’t expect WR1 value in return.
Josh Downs Chiefs WR1 has a nice ring to it

Seahawks run outside zone at one of the highest rates of any team in the league, and Q is one of the best impact IOL at it Well worth it
Compensation update; The Seahawks are sending a 2027 third-round pick and 2028 fifth-round round pick to the Colts in exchange for Quenton Nelson.

Them having to pay him a market setting extension drove the price down significantly
Trade! The Colts are sending eight-time Pro Bowl guard Quenton Nelson to the Seahawks for a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-round pick, sources tell @ringer @netflixsports.

Fuck off, Adam 🤣💀 WE KNOW.
As the Colts now have begun to trade players ahead of the NFL’s deadline, it’s worth a reminder: the New York Jets hold Indianapolis’ 2027 first-round draft pick.

There’s the first domino for the #Colts fire sale. Wondering what the compensation is in return. 🤔 Q will finally get to chase a Super Bowl with a contender. Couldn’t have happened to a better player. Go get ‘em, Q! #ForTheShoe
Trade: The #Colts are sending eight-time Pro-Bowl guard Quenton Nelson to the #Seahawks, per @AdamSchefter and me. Nelson is on an expiring contract and the Colts get back draft capital now before they could lose him in free agency. A Colts legend goes to the champs.

Look at Barkley now, 1 1/2 seasons removed from that SB season. KWIII had incredibly low mileage due to Seattle being adamant he needed to be in a committee. KW3 total touches thru college & first 4 years in SEA-1,453 JT total touches thru college & first 4 years in IND-2,016
Barkley and Kenneth’s walker Super Bowl run have changed the way teams look at running backs.

THANK YOU. Too many emotions involved in this discussion for people. JT has little tread on the fire and a fat contract.

Adebawore is a MUST re-sign for the 2027 season and beyond. Won’t be an excellent run defender on inside runs, but his pass rush juice is through the roof and his motor is unmatched by anyone on the current roster, as seen in this clip.
This is legitimately one of the most insane plays I've seen from a 2i defensive tackle in run defense. Adetomiwa Adebawore's play speed and effort are unreal. Indy can't let this guy leave this offseason

The RB market has changed for *young* RBs that can be true 3 down work horses. Jonathan Taylor isn’t young, nor is he a true 3 down workhorse. He’s god awful in pass protection and a mediocre pass catcher/route runner, at best. This isn’t Gibbs or Bijan we’re talking about.
The running back market has changed. This isn’t 2021 anymore. Teams are paying running backs and drafting them higher than recent memory. Taylor makes the Seahawks immediately favorites similar to Walker did

The #Colts can try to acquire a first for Nelson/Taylor all they want. If they get a first for either of them, it’ll be for Nelson, which would likely be a conditional 1st. Taylor isn’t getting you a first in any way, shape or form. Had they traded him after 2021, they would’ve.
You need a 1st round pick more than Jonathan Taylor. You need a 1st round pick more than you need an all pro Guard. You need a quarterback before and above all else to start this rebuild. Try and acquire the 1st at all costs

Daniel Jones through 7 games: 4 passing TDs, 7 INTs, a 59.6% completion rate and a 69.4 passer rating. At some point, we have to stop pretending this is acceptable quarterback play.

Yeah definitely not any good options I think on the roster as a whole. And I don’t think you’re wrong at all DJ, AR or Riley. To me they all stink. To me it’s just like the undying loyalty and unequal accountability and out of sequence decision making that truly boggles my mind.

Perhaps Steichen not playing Richardson is a way of showing the fans “this guy doesn’t show up and prepare the way Jones does”. Steichen trusts the process within his system, so he wants a QB who is also capable of understanding and working with it.
I truly think Steichen just doesn't feel like he can trust Richardson anymore in how he prepares or in how he's not reliable. He's willing to trust Jones cause he's dependable, even tho he is playing terribly now
