Bioware is dead. Another gaming institution gone. When I first started making games, it was to have a backup plan. "Maybe I can pivot into the games industry for a more stable career, if I ever need to." It seems the creator industry is far more stable these days. I think the future of games is with smaller projects and smaller teams, where passion and efficiency thrive instead of corporate greed. But indie developers are also figuring out what generative AI means for their space, so even that is an unpredictable and unstable space right now. It's a weird time in games. Things are going to look really different in 2-3 years. If any affected devs are looking to get into the indie gaming world and want some advice on navigating the marketing/visibility side of it, I'm no expert yet, but always happy to share the challenges we've encountered.

You know all the people stealing games have zero ounces of creativity in their souls when not a single one of them made Hay in a Needlestack and warped the gameplay where it involves managing the damage you take from grabbing all the needles.

Regina starts preschool today! I am so proud of her. She loves to tell everyone hello and ask their name. She is very silly and loves to tell jokes. She loves to draw pictures, especially of ladybugs. She is so funny and brave, but also gets lonely and frustrated sometimes. She is really becoming herself and it's wonderful to watch. I love being her dad.

BlizzCon day two is done! Got to watch the world championships, go to my first K-Pop concert, and talk to a lot of cool people. Fair warning, I am exhausted and may sleep until October.
