Public Affairs Officer, Jackie Moore met with Joseph Kaifala, Chairman of Sierra Leone’s Monument and Relics Commission, and curator Olivette Barnette to discuss opportunities for collaboration with the National Museum. With a shared history linking the United States and Salone, partnerships that preserve our common heritage offer mutual benefits. By combining American expertise in cultural preservation with Salone’s knowledge, we can achieve meaningful results. The U.S. Embassy looks forward to fostering these connections and strengthening ties.

I love the Railway Museum because it is a child friendly space, which is why I have been pushing for a proper renovation for the safety of our kids. We are strengthening the wall that was affected by the fire with concrete and iron rod pillars to hold the roof.
