When doing 1-1s with your team,
Make the other person feel in control.
Share your observations, not your judgments.
Ask questions, don't make assumptions.
Address their concerns.
Listen, really listen.
Most importantly, follow through on your commitments.

On the topic of mental health in the workplace, I transparently block off my calendar for therapy and psychiatry appointments.
I don't know if anyone notices, but in case they do, it's a small way of helping break the stigma. π

Remote work and flexibility when possible is a workerβs rights issue β
If your job can be performed remotely, you should have the right to request it!
That is what Ireland decided this week by making it a legal right for employees to request remote work from their employers.
Hopefully more countries follow their lead.

Which companies are leading the way in modern employee benefits?

Your employees are humans, not machines.
Just because weβre working at home doesnβt mean we are always able to take the time we need to rest.
Respect your remote workforce.
Empower them with an async culture.
And youβll win in the remote era. π

This is why I firmly believe Monday should be a no meeting day.
This 'hit the ground running' every Monday culture is what burns people out quickly.
Team meetings on Mondays are also exhausting to some folks because they use their weekends to socialize and want to recharge.

Manifesting that 2022 will be the year I get a book publisher. And more than manifesting, Iβm directly asking. βΊοΈ

Throwing this out there -
In 2020 I published a comprehensive book on remote work, @RemoteWorkEra. Since then Iβve been working at a global remote-first π¦ company.
Iβm planning a 2nd book on the future of work & interested in pitching to publishers!
Tips & RTs appreciated β€οΈ
