In honor of Herald: The Interactive Period Drama, the very first game I made, finally being fully released; let me re-share some of my very first Live2D models I made for the game! I hand animated them and all models could share the same animation database.

Expanding on the recommendation of applying 3D knowledge to Live2D: *You should respect the mesh lines to create a comprehensive pattern that animates well Here are two really good articles that you can easily port to Live2D: topologyguides.com/modeling-… topologyguides.com/loop-redu…

Thank you for all the love! 🥹💚 It is only 2 layers (you could also do it with one!) with a good artmesh topology and smooth glue weights you can archive really consistent results ✨ I would recommend learning good 3D topology techniques and look to apply them to Live2D!

Rest in peace Viktor Antonov. His work will continue to inspire artists for many years to come.

Viktor Antonov, the artist behind Half-Life 2 and Dishonored among many other games has sadly passed away. City 17 and Dunwall remain one of my favorite places in fiction. RIP
