There is no excuse for imprisoning children and pregnant women. Full stop. Yesterday I made my 17th visit to an immigration detention facility. Once again, what we heard from the facility does not match what we heard from detainees. The Eloy Detention Center is failing to meet the basic medical needs of the women we spoke with. As a physician and a mother, I know Maria and pregnant women across this country need to be released. These are not criminals; they are vulnerable people who deserve medical care and safety. We are fighting for the heart of our nation. Stay Loud.

It’s been three years since Hamas brutally murdered over 1200 people and took 250 hostage, in Israel.    This inexcusable loss continues to weigh heavily on our community. As does the ongoing genocide in Gaza. One does not and cannot excuse the other.   We must condemn violence, and we must do so in all of its forms. All of us need to stand together in opposition to hate and violence across the globe.
