My dad used Phoenix Transit every day to get from our West Phoenix home to his job selling shoes at the Park Central JC Penney. It was a lifeline for our working class family.
That’s why I’ll always support public transportation & why it meant so much to celebrate @ValleyMetro’s 2026 Outstanding Public Transportation System award from @APTA_Transit.
🧵
This award is a testament to the excellent leadership of @ValleyMetro CEO Jessica Mefford-Miller and the hard work of her entire team.
It's no surprise they blew away the competition. This past year Valley Metro provided more than 40 million trips, reached nearly 90% rider satisfaction, and completed its third light rail extension in four years.

I’ve helped secure more than $230 million in federal funding for local transit, & I’m working across the aisle on a bipartisan highways & transit bill to bring home even more.
Because every family in the Valley deserves affordable transit they can count on, just like my dad did.

Happy 10th anniversary to Valley Bloom’s Chandler thrift shop!
An all-volunteer team turned a big leap of faith into more than half a million dollars last year to fund school clothes, scholarships, and care kits for local kids. Thanks for all you do for the community.

In 2014, I grabbed a shovel alongside the late Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor to break ground on ASU Law’s new home in downtown Phoenix.
Now it's celebrating 10 years of training Arizona’s next generation of lawyers and leaders. Happy anniversary, @ASUCollegeOfLaw!
Grand Canyon. Saguaro. Petrified Forest. Now, Chiricahua.
I was proud to back the bipartisan bill that made Chiricahua America’s 64th national park, preserving its towering rock spires and rich Apache heritage for generations to come.
FEMA’s chief just told states they should prepare to handle more natural disasters on their own.
As the lead Democrat on @TransportDems overseeing @FEMA, I’ve exposed how Trump gutted the agency & diverted resources to ICE enforcement.
Now, he wants to cut it back even more.
In AZ, that could mean even less search & rescue or recovery assistance for families after wildfires, storms, & floods.
We can’t afford to abandon families when they need help most. Congress needs to pass our bipartisan FEMA Act to make sure communities get disaster assistance quickly, efficiently & fairly.

Groveling before a war criminal is unconscionable.
Putin has masterminded the slaughter of thousands of Ukrainian civilians.
He is not a humanitarian—no amount of shameless flattery will change that.
Congratulations to Dr. Judy Aldrich, Shrinithi Shaurya, David Gil, & @TheArcOfTempe on being honored with @TempeCommunity’s Don Carlos Humanitarian Award.
Named for Tempe’s founder, the awards celebrate those who show up for one another & make Tempe a better place. Thank you to every honoree for all you do to support young people & neighbors in need across our community.

I’m honored to earn another 100% score from @HRC on their Congressional Scorecard.
As mayor, I led in taking Phoenix from 70% to a 100% score on their Municipal Equality Index by expanding LGBTQ+ rights.
I brought that same fight with me to Washington.
I’ll keep standing with advocates across the country, because we can never accept anything less than equality for every American.
A 30% cut to our Colorado River water is already a heavy lift for Arizona families, farmers, and businesses. Going deeper isn’t an option.
Joining Nevada’s lawsuit sends a clear message: Arizona will do its share, but we refuse to take on disproportionate cuts.

Thank you, @RepGregStanton, for helping us kick off our first food pantry at @MesaVFW! Together with @UnitedFoodBank and our amazing volunteers, we served 45 households and 113+ neighbors on day one. We'll be back every month.
Great morning this weekend at @MesaVFW helping @WillowOakAllian kick off its first-ever food pantry and hand out groceries to our neighbors in need.
Mesa veterans and families now have a new place to turn for help thanks to David Friend, Commander Chitwood, and @UnitedFoodBank volunteers.
I was a leader in the House in passing the CHIPS and Science Act, which has turned AZ into a global technology and manufacturing hub.
Companies are now investing hundreds of billions of dollars to build America’s semiconductor industry right here in the Valley.

Chandler Flex is an essential part of getting around the city. It gets students to high school, seniors to their appointments, & workers to their jobs, all for just $2.
Thousands of residents count on it day in & day out. That's why I worked in Congress to bring home $1 million to expand Flex to more of the community.
It was great celebrating its success with @ChandlerAZMayor Hartke and @CityofChandler Council.

Proud to lead my colleagues in the @DemWomenCaucus, alongside @Rep_Grijalva and @RepGregStanton in condemning in the absolute strongest terms the grotesque attack and rape committed against Bernadette Greene-Placentia.
No candidate for office should ever have to fear for their safety because they chose to participate in our democracy.
