Yesterday, I joined Pastor Chris Johnson and hundreds of volunteers in Lancaster for TeamUp’s Love Your City cleanup!
Over 300 volunteers joined with city staff to help make one neighborhood cleaner and more beautiful.
Days like yesterday show that we all have the power to create positive change, and help us connect with our neighbors.
Thank you to everyone who gave their time to make a difference in the Antelope Valley!
I stopped by Thief & Barrel Winery in Lancaster to celebrate nine years of a local business bringing people together in the AV! From the chili cook-off to local vendors, it was great to see our community supporting small businesses and celebrating everything that makes our local community special.
Congratulations to Barbara, DiMaggio, and the entire Thief & Barrel team on nine years!
I had a great time joining our AV community for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Palmdale, hosted by the Lancaster Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority!
Together, we raised awareness and supported breast cancer research and patient services while honoring survivors, remembering loved ones, and standing with everyone affected by breast cancer.
Every student deserves to focus on their education, not where their next meal will come from.
That’s why I was proud to join Dr. Ruys from the @Canyons to announce a $850,000 federal investment for the CoC’s Basic Needs Center to help expand their existing resource space so students can access food and get the support they need.
Our local community colleges do incredible work that supports students across our community, and I’m glad to help them continue that work!
At a recent Coffee4Vets meeting, I had the honor of presenting 10 military medals and ribbons posthumously honoring decorated Army veteran Dennis Bartash to his daughter, Jennifer Bartash. I was also able to give her a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol and a certificate in recognition of her father’s service.
It was a beautiful ceremony and one I am grateful to have been a part of. Thanks as always to Juan Blanco and Coffee4Vets for making these events possible.

Yesterday, I organized a congressional delegation tour of the LA County Ballot Processing Center.
Here’s what we learned throughout our visit:
Great to partner with @AsmPilarSchiavo and the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center to connect local seniors with the resources and services they need.
Thank you to everyone who joined us!
Assemblywoman Pilar Schiavo, D-Chatsworth, Rep. George Whitesides, D-Acton, and the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center hosted the Senior Resource Fair on Friday.

I visited the LA County Ballot Processing Center to see firsthand how ballots are counted and the safeguards in place to protect our elections.
Every registered voter should have received their ballot by now. Make your voice heard and return your ballot by mail, at a ballot drop box, or at a voting center.
Visit caearlyvoting.sos.ca.gov for more information on how to vote!
LA Tech Week was an incredible display of our region’s dynamic economy, and I was excited to speak about the future of aerospace and technology in California.
I joined former NASA Administrator Dan Goldin and JPL’s Richard Cook for a conversation on the future of the space industry in Los Angeles County and how we can attract and retain aerospace jobs. I joined a panel on ‘Space Cities’ with artists, engineers and business people about the importance of developing space and Earth responsibility. And I joined a dinner organized by Megafire Action to discuss how technology can improve response times and improve resilience.
From space exploration to national defense, our region is building the future while growing our local economy and providing good paying jobs to people all across our area. Let’s keep the momentum going!
Thanks to the Valley Economic Alliance for honoring @RepLuzRivas and I at their Awards Recognition Night! It was a great opportunity to speak with local business leaders and hear about how we can work together to continue to grow our area’s dynamic economy.

Congratulations to my friend Monica Rodriguez for being sworn in for another term to the Los Angeles City Council. I look forward to working together to deliver results for our communities!
Hundreds of seniors joined us at the Santa Clarita Senior Center for the Senior Resource Fair, connecting with local, state, and federal partners to get the resources and information they need.
It was great to co-host this event with @AsmPilarSchiavo and help connect our community with resources on everything from health care to scam prevention. Thank you to everyone who came out and to all our partners who made this event possible!
On Friday, an envelope containing a suspicious white powder was delivered to my Antelope Valley district office. My staff took immediate precautions and contacted emergency responders.
The safety of my staff is my top priority. I’m grateful to the first responders and law enforcement officials who responded to the situation.
Threats against elected officials and public servants have no place in our democracy. Despite these circumstances, we remain committed to continuing our service to the people of the Antelope, Santa Clarita, and San Fernando Valleys.
Live-streaming an execution is unacceptable, and beneath who we are as Americans.
That’s why I’m cosponsoring the American Integrity Act, which places a federal ban on live-streaming executions for all administrations going forward.
This week I was grateful to be honored by the Valley Economic Alliance, alongside my friend, @RepLuzRivas.
Having run a business in the Antelope Valley, I know firsthand how federal policies affect local employers and the people they hire. Hearing from our business community is critical to making sure Washington works for them.
I was glad to hear directly from San Fernando Valley business leaders about their priorities and how we can work together to support local businesses.
Special thanks to Greg Martayan, VEA’s Vice President of External Affairs, for making the conversation possible.
After fires and flooding forced the Chimbole Center in Palmdale to close, I am proud to say its restoration has begun.
I attended the groundbreaking for the renovations of the Chimbole Center which will once again be a vibrant community hub for everything from job fairs to weddings. I can’t wait to attend the future grand opening!
We will continue to work to secure federal funding for this project. Grateful to the Palmdale City Council, the Trades, and everyone who is working together to make it happen!
After years of development and construction, the Rink in Santa Clarita is open! The Rink has space for rollerskating, pickleball, basketball, and so much more.
The Rink will provide an invaluable space for our community to come together. The facility is absolutely beautiful and, as I can say from my own experience, a lot of fun.
Congratulations to the City Council and everyone who brought this long-awaited project to completion.
Strong Santa Ana winds are increasing wildfire risk across our region through Saturday. Power shutoffs have begun in certain locations as utilities work to reduce fire risk.
If your power goes out, @SCE Community Resource Centers may offer phone charging, water, snacks and other essentials. Please note that not all locations are open during every outage. Check ahead before traveling.
