Wow, what a night!! 🏆❤️
I honestly have to admit that I went into last night’s East Hants & Districts Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards without much confidence that I would win the People’s Choice Award.
When I was first nominated, I seriously considered withdrawing my name because I hadn’t planned on being nominated for anything this year. But the person who nominated me knows who she is, and out of respect for her, I decided to let the nomination stand. I’m so glad I did! ❤️ The fact that she was also a finalist in the People’s Choice category made the evening even more special.
To everyone who took the time to vote for me, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart! I know there were friends and supporters from all across the Maritimes who voted once they heard voting was open, and that means more to me than you know. Your support, encouragement, and belief in what I do are never taken for granted.
A special thank-you to Jennifer and Handy Cabs for allowing me to use their new office for the video created for the awards. I truly appreciate your support!
Congratulations to my fellow finalists, Pages and Pieces Boutique and Ashley Hamilton. It was an honour to share this category with you both!
Thank you as well to everyone who came up to me last night to offer congratulations, kind words, encouragement, and positive comments about the work I do and what I mean to this community.
One person said something to me last night that really stuck: they hoped I realized what I mean to this community. I do. ❤️ This community is the reason I keep doing what I do, and the support I receive reminds me why it matters.
Of course, there’s no time to rest on my laurels! I have a three-assignment day ahead of me, so it’s right back to the grind. 😄 And tomorrow, I get to visit Mom and bring the award along to share that moment with her. ❤️
Before I wrap this up, I want to say one more thing. Although 11 awards were presented to 11 deserving recipients last night, I believe every finalist should be proud of what they have accomplished.
Being recognized as a finalist is an achievement in itself and speaks volumes about the incredible businesses and people we have in our community.
And let’s not forget the many other amazing local businesses that weren’t named finalists this year but had been nominated. They are just as important to the fabric of our community and deserve our support, too.
So, let’s continue to support our local businesses, just as they continue to support our community. When we shop local, choose local services, and spread the word about the incredible people working right here at home, we help our entire community thrive.
Thank you again to everyone who voted, encouraged me, supported me, and believed in me. This award means so much, and I’m incredibly grateful to bring it home. 🏆❤️
Alright, enough celebrating for now! Time to get back to work! 😄😄😄
And just like some hockey players when they win the Stanley Cup, and go to sleep with it. I did take the award to bed with me. 😄😄
Oh and #localnewsmatters
