RD-33 is the one that made the MiG-29 loud. Later the same family became the RD-93 for the JF-17 and also went in the early J-31s. Those J-31 flights happened, but nobody was bragging about the performance numbers after.
As someone who works on engines I look at them sitting outside and already start thinking about how much corrosion is hiding under the covers.
