When I first introduced legislation to end child marriage in 2018, it was shelved by legislative leaders.
Now, five years later and with strong leadership, child marriage is now banned in Michigan.
We have sent a powerful message that child abuse in any form is unacceptable in our state.
Thank you to the survivors and activists who have worked so hard with us over the years to finally end child marriage in Michigan.
