Michell Germán should be getting ready for Senior Night this Friday. Instead, she’s locked away at the Dilley Trailer Prison with her parents and younger sister. I met with the family last week. Michell is a bright young student at a magnet school in El Paso, the Center for Career and Technology Education, who’s working toward her cosmetology license and dreams of a career in medicine. Her younger sister Paola attends Lamar Elementary and is only 11 years old.
On Friday, Michell's teammates will carry her picture onto the field. But she's missing memories she'll never get back.
ICE should release the family immediately. Now is the time for Democrats to get to work, shut down the Dilley Trailer Prison, and end family detention once and for all.

A truly historic night for Texas, and the fight to save Big Bend played a huge role.
Far West Texas showed up like never before to fight back against a corrupt federal government hellbent on destroying their home, their livelihoods and their way of life. Bulldozing Big Bend is an affront to us all.

ICE HSI agent Kent Blacklidge who racially profiled and tackled US citizen Leo Venegas while trespassing at his worksite (the first of Leo's three illegal detainments) was just arrested for rape and child sex crimes. The agent's duties had included child sex investigations.
ICE wrestled Alabama worker to the ground & detain him for hours—he is a U.S. citizen.
Young man was begging & shouting, "I am a U.S. citizen"—but that didn't stop ICE agents from dragging him off to a detention center.
Not following due process hurts us all—and our economy.
His family said that ICE agents did release him after he was finally given the opportunity to prove he was a U.S. citizen—but only after many hours.
This construction site in Foley, Alabama was forced to shut down for at least the day. How many other businesses were affected?
