Last but not least, a few screenshots. This is probably the last time I will use Black as a test game.. It took FOREVER to get to actual gameplay 馃槅

Some final touches to finish everything up. The SATA adapter was upgraded to support UDMA6 by moving/replacing a couple 0603 resistors (RH1-10K, R4-100). Then a 3D printed spacer/lock was used in place of the aforementioned hot glue.

Time to bring this Xbox into the future. XboxHD+, Stellar+, and Stellar RGB installed. Now we have HDMI output, wireless controller support, and customizable front panel lighting.

Next up is the 128MB RAM upgrade. Not too much to see here. They are chips, and they are soldered. With the new memory added, the banks can then be tested with XBlastOS. Good to go!

With all of that done, the real work can finally begin. Previous person replaced 0 caps, so first thing on the agenda is the recap. Motherboard, power supply, and drive board all completely recapped. Then new thermal compound applied.

On to the motherboard. After removing the heatsinks, it looks like there was an effort to replace the thermal compound, but they did not clean all of the old compound off, and scrapped the metal in the process.
A little Googone goes a long way, and is non-destructive..

Upon opening the console, I was greeted with a large blob of hot glue between the HDD/SATA adapter. I get why, but this is suboptimal. They also decided to glue the drive power cable to the motherboard..
With a little isopropyl and patience, said blobs were removed.

Another day, another Xbox. This one was upgraded with an XboxHD+, Stellar+, Stellar RGB, 128MB RAM, 2TB HDD, and more. It was not all smooth sailing though, as the console was previously "serviced" by another company..
Check it out 馃憞

Thermal pads are saved for last to avoid getting dust or debris on them while work is being done. This one came in with an expansion pack, so that received a new thermal pad as well at no additional cost to the customer. Time to test!
