A gentleman once spoke to me in my club, seeking my daughter's hand. He seemed to be concerned that she was past the peak of her fertility, having recently turned 17.

I like this take and think it's correct. And word problems are a genre of literature but that's a totally different discussion.

@ithayla just wanted to let you know that I'm watching xianxia now and I'm pretty sure you had a lot to do with it.

I imagine a pleasant city with a variety of urban and rural landscapes nearby, where it has all the good things about human life but non of the bad. Art without murder. Joy without pain. Love without loss.

Sorry for the long reply. I don't come on here much anymore. I tried for statistics, business analytics, and data analysis mostly, as well as curriculum development at a certain edtech company.

What's a fraction between 3/4 and 4/5? What was your strategy?

31/40: I thought of a fraction equivalent to 3/4 and made it a little bit bigger.

I wish you well but I haven't been able to with a similar experience. 17 years in the classroom, MS in Statistics, informal certificates in Python and R. Also with the excellent writing and speaking skills. I graduated in 2020.

I rather like it. It generalizes math as a cultural practice so "mathematics" doesn't get distinguished from "ethnomathematics" while preserving the core of what mathematical study is about.

Mathematics, geometry. Retweet if you can find a perfect Five-Pointed Star in this pattern. [From Sam Loyd (1841–1911)] Before you show the answer, why not first share this with friends who might want to see the puzzle, before seeing the answer?
